It was a good toss to win, but 9 wickets with half the overs remaining is like suggesting a brick on the tracks might halt a speeding freight train.
When you say stuff like this you’re hexing your team

Well at least we can see they have some ZC genes in them. Disappointing. The margin of the loss is too big for them to recover in my opinion. I have never been a fan of D/L especially when 1 team doesn't even get to bat after the rain delay. Stats don't account for everything.

The way they were batting in a T22 run chase you’re now using to extrapolate where they’d be had they batted first?
That’s too much Duck and not enough Lewis.
They’d have been going at 6 an over, maybe 7 tops.
Yeah, suppose ZIM had won the toss and fielded first. BD might well have only scored 80 odd off the first 20, just like Zimbabwe. But they'd likely have been 80-2 or 80-1. Lets say it was 80-3. Can we agree the 22 over target via DL would be something like 160 or thereabouts. I don't know the exact formula, so I'm guessing but lets have a chart:

28 overs score...wickets lost...aproximate 22 over DL target

137...6...130
137...5...140
137...4...155
137...3...175
137...2...190
137...1...200
137...0...205

I think that looks reasonable. Is that a fair equation? Reasonably fair I think.

So the question is, if BD batted first, where would they have been at 28.1 overs. No one can say for sure, but most likely they'd have been at 150-3 or thereabouts, based on the fact that the BD batting lineup is stronger than the median team at this level and the ZIM bowling is weaker than average.

The final point would be, if DL is really such a lottery with toss results being more demonstrative of results than team strength, wouldn't you expect every side to have very nearly 50-50 DL results?
