I remember saying it in another thread somewhere.
But this is the answer.
Go to the jungles, into the desert...into the bush.
Theres a 145km/hr bowler out there. A superstar in the wings.....he probably doesnt know much about cricket. He probably plays soccer, he might just be fighting every day for food to live. He might be chasing a lion,or in prison..... he might not have hit puberty old for all i know.
But one thing i do know:
Is that he is out there.....somewhere.

An interview with Kevin Curran after the Harare leg. He says 160 people turned up, 26 were short listed. Overall, about 50/60 people will go for the final trials. Very encouraging.

Re: Bowling search reaping rewards
If they dont find few bowlers who can bowl over 140km/hr then i think they should reduce the pitch length from 22 yards to maybe 19-18.that might just help the batsmen playing fast bowling.

Re: Bowling search reaping rewards
there should be peoplein Zim who can do 140km/hr, lets just wait and see the 26 selected guys. I wonder if the older guys such as Campbell McMillan, Ian Nicolson have had a go at it as well. Not forgetting up and coming Aliseni,Jarvis with proper training and a couple of season of Franchise cricket, they will be good. I wonder if these new guys are heralding the return to glory of Zim Cricket Academy
Re: Bowling search reaping rewards
my guess is they are just looking for athletes who fit the mould of a fast bowler.
Then let streak mould him.
the problem is the academy are probably only going to attract cricketers.....already playing cricket.
You need to find raw freshies from the jungle who dont know th game but have the attributes needed.
