I think the ODI series will be 2-1 to either side. If I had to put my money on it, I go with Ireland since they are at home, and since the young guys haven't quite stepped up yet apart from that one innings from Shumba it means its gonna come down to the Big 5 (Big 4 + Blessing). Since only 2 of the Big 5 fire in any given innings, it will be tough ask for ZIM.CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 1:55 pmHaving sabotaged the entire T20I series like this, there is no excuse if we don't win the ODI series 3-0. We have played the Irish guys into form so I don't see that happening either. "Think tank" has tanked us.

Great bowling performance today.
Real fight from the bowlers.
Lots of positives for the bowlers but I’m really worried about the batting going forward. We have had an awful series with the bat.

This is what happens everytime, just when you are on the brink of quitting this team wins.
At the end of the day, 3-2, is a decent scoreline FROM Zimbabwe's perspective considering it is an away tour and Zimbos rested their key players.
What I can make of this is that Zimbabwe do well on slow sluggish wickets, their win against Pakistan was also on a similar surface. They struggle on good batting tracks.
Such a shame because the T20 WC in UAE will be played on slow wickets which zimba we would have enjoyed a lot more than the likes of Dutch, Scots and Irish. Sadly they won't be playing.

I'm glad myers stayed with ervine for a little while. It made the difference in the end. Madhevere. Has gone off the boil a little. He needs more seniors around him to flourish

As an ICC event, the tracks will be slow in the sense that it won't be the WACA. But as an ICC event, you can bet it won't be 120 wickets or even 150 tracks. The pitches will likely be 170 par score tracks. Of course some of the smaller sides might get shot out for 80 all out in the qualifying round, but the Super 12s will be 170-180 par score.
