Test wise I have felt Zim has under performed the last few games.
Hoping for an over achievement soon
I believe in both occasions we were done in by incorrect and dare u say incompetent selections.

Not just my opinion, Zimbabwe media hammered us too.

We persisted with players we knew would fail and left out players in form.

Incompetent performance more than the selections I’d say.

That second Afghanistan test was pretty much a full strength side, we bowled them out cheaply, got a lead. Had them out half cheaply second dig but they built a big partnership then we batted brazenly.

Ireland, their hand was forced with Ervine’s wife going into labour and Williams putting his back out  again, we were in positions to win it.

It’s not so much player selection as shot selection. Guys trying to pull and sweep everything

Both tests featured Curran and welch, the guys fans were clamouring for.

Raza is the biggest disappointment, chasing the PSL rupees. I could accept it last year when he couldn’t commit to tests but could for white ball. I accepted his retirement from tests to prolong his t20 and ODI career, then he randomly turned up for a single test then disappeared again. Bro can’t pick and choose around his franchise leagues.

He probably can for now.
He’s our best spinner. He is experienced and he is amongst our best bat.

However he is a bit of an association bully, has dipped the last 12 months and this privilege will wear very thin with a couple more failures.

Agree with the selections. The pace bowling selections especially.

I have a feeling they might do some more experimentation for the two Tests before settling for best XIs for England and SA/NZ. ie maybe Craig and Sean play only 1 of the 2 Tests and same with Blessing and Richard and give some of the others like Campbell and Nyauchi a go.

Hopefully a seaming wicket with some grass on it for this Test. Or a flat batting track. Do not want to see a turning wicket given how much BD have struggled on turning pitches at home in recent years.

I'm really not seeing the benefit of two fairly ordinary "academy" sides getting savaged by Scotland, who must be wondering why they've come all this way to not have any opposition whatsoever.
Let's see who they pick for their A side. I fear more of the same.

You'd think in that second game they'd have given Big Nought another opportunity since he was the only one that didn't have an embarrassing innings and perhaps have batted him up the order instead of at 8 to see what he could do.
If wishes were horses....
What a waste of time.
