These two need too and should last til lunch.
A big score here isn’t going to win the match but it gives you confidence you can belong.

50 from Welch. He really needed that, but also needs to covert it to a ton. Plenty of time. Apart from a few staying low, the pitch is still good for batting.

Stupid to say but he has saved his test career in the short term with the innings. He would have been dropped with a failure in this innings.

Its the most negative commentary I think I've ever heard for a career saving 50. Mawoyo is not his friend.
Had absolutely nothing to hit for nearly 40 deliveries, under intense scrutiny from an outstanding seam and spin attack.
Give him a break.
And managed to get under the skin of the flatheads.

Mawoyo is a terrible commentator , bias towards some players and very critical of others.

I hope he kicks on, it would make his position fairly safe for 2025 at least. That kind of runway can set him up to relax a bit and give confidence needed to go to the next level.

Even Pollock joined the party-
Misses the outside edge and (laughs) next shot is a reverse.
Had anyone else down 3 reverses in a row to a guy coming round the wicket out the middle of the bat, someone would have said-
Good cricketing brain, well played.
Its ridiculous. But it shows theyre wanting to sack him. Theyre sounding boards for what they hear around their green label and fanta at night, earning 5 times what our players earn and the two of them with less than useful careers themselves. Talk about dining out on mediocrity.

Welch has done the hard yards and shown that he deserves his spot only to be replaced by Myers who has done nothing for the past year or so. Good for him to get a score today.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Re: Zimbabwe vs South Africa | 2nd Test | 6-10 July | Bulawayo
Rainsford still going hard. All he and Mawoyo ever were were u19 quota players who stole an international career by virtue of the fact that the good players left, done the same with their commentary careers. Shut the fuck up.
