So I got some low-down on Cremer this morning.
He bowled at our national guys in the nets apparently, and bowled well. Its clear he's contemplating throwing his name in the hat. Pretty gob-smacking really.
If he hasn't lost anything he's likely to be our best leggie.
He was a decent batsman as well, dunno if he faced Blessing for a couple of overs to clear the cobwebs
You have to question the value he brings. I mean he's about to turn 40 Providing he's as good as he was before he potentially brings value for the T20 WC but then surely he hits his expiry date before the 2027 WC.
Where would he slot in? If theyre prepared to entertain the idea then surely my Codger Eleven should also be considered He wouldn't make that side though.
Only in Zimbabwe does a 39 yr old who no longer plays cricket, living in dubai wake up and decide he might go play for the zim team lol.
Remember though a few years back he did play some arab t10 or t20 league and he got absolutely smashed.
Of course, if he is anywhere near the 32 year old Cremer, he is an absolute asset. He was really coming good, but with leggies its hard, you need to tune it.

I see what they see in Nyamhuri, huge potential. But he sprays it and there should be guys ahead of him. Blessing is likely out on compassionate grounds so he may well get a start. Should be Maphosa, well Evans actually, but we know they want a Maphaka wannabe. I'm not sure why they have not considering Chivanga either.
Where I would invite you to clarify is your thoughts on identifying talent and running with them over stats vs when the opposite is true.
You're a huge advocate on backing the players that can make it over players with a lower ceiling, but players like Nyamhuri arent ready.
I know exactly what you mean when you say this, because he is too raw and too young, but I know there are small minded people here that will pick this apart and attack you.

I can't believe I am reading that Graeme Cremer is potentially back in the mix. I mean, he was easily our best leg spinner (ever), but I would rather invest is Vin. Yes he got a walloping but he clearly rips it, which is priceless. I'd rather have Cremer as the spin coach or at the very least some type of consultant for him. I know he's at Unu but if Myers, Bawa (no doubt) and Wez get the red carpet treatment, so should Schonken. Proper bowler and probably has slight more control.
