Raza is liability, but BT isn't

Re: T20 Africa Qualifiers
My thoughts on the Munyonga, musekiewa maposa, Gwandu debate:
I think the only competition for that spot is Williams when he is back or Madhevere . Musekiewa has something about him to support as a finisher so I’d keep him in.
Munyonga can hit a long ball but he is the best runner between the wickets in the team, the amount of 2s he gets and supports others in getting is really valuable.
Maposa and Gwandu will always leak runs and in an ideal situation we would look elsewhere. Nobody is knocking on the door though. Nyauchi and Chivanga leak, Larry is better but probably won’t play again now. Nyamhuri is not ready yet.
I’d like to see Matigimu is the domestic t20s see if he adds any value before considering him as an option Vheza is another upcoming seamer.
Based on this I’d carry on with Maposa and just swap him out in spin friendly conditions for welly, or Cremer if they decide he is ready come back.
I wouldn’t actually make any changes to this squad going into the t20 worlds. Well Williams for Madande but I’m talking original squad.
Bennett
Marumani
Taylor (wk)
Raza
Williams
Burl
Musekiewa
Evans
Maposa
Ngarava
Muzarabani
Myers
Munyonga
Masakadza
Gwandu

Probably more the last 12 months, but the difference between peak 2022 (36 yr old) Raza v 2025 (39 yr old) Raza is stark.andrea lanzoni wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 8:19 am(Unfortunately) it's true.
Zimbabwe has to be enormously grateful to Raza for all he has done, on several occasions.
Unfortunately, in the past two years he has, almost always, underperformed.
Problem is: this Raza is still better than more than half of the Zimbabwe line-up.
He will still limp to the 2027 WC because his shit is still better than his competition at this rate, but I don't think we have to worry about him playing IPL or anything anymore.
Remember in a functioning system, he would have hung his boots up 6-12 months ago and no one here wouldve thought this weird.

Who's the commentator screaming
I was getting flashbacks to 2008 when Jeremy Fredericks was in the box
Re: T20 Africa Qualifiers
Just wondering how long BT will carry on. He really struggled with his fitness. And with keeping it really doesn't look good. People retire early for a reason more so with the body giving up on you.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Re: T20 Africa Qualifiers
Hopefully a franchise season will see him regain some match fitness... (or it might finish him off...)
