What happened to the plan of getting overseas coaches?
Thats a good squad. 30 players!! So much for them strengthening Rocks and Tuskers this season.

Kaitano, Curran, Naqvi, Taylor, Burl, Musekiwa, Mayavo, Cremer, Evans, Khan, Chinouya/Gwandu

Theyre not going to be easy to beat. If you combined all the other squads you would get a comparable side.

Musekiwa, Evans, Naqvi Jr are not going to get much batting time. They disbanded Mangongo's 6 whites last season and now there's 9 non black players in this squad? Naqvi Jr is going to pay handomely to play at the expense of Masakanda

Why is Ebrahim now a local coach, what has happened to his national contract?

Houghton is apparently back in the mix and going to head up the HPC at HSC. That could potentially be a good move if he gets a say in who he coaches. Its been years in the planning.

I would imagine with the bye team playing the under 19s. You would hope to see teams try their bench

Obviously if the national team is away this Rhinos team weakens up significantly.

I'm curious how this HPC will work.
When would it start? The guys they should be looking at, the guys knocking on the door and/or the national guys that could do with some tweaks are all going to be busy in franchise and national duty for the next 4 months or so.

He could help with the U19's in the meantime.

Here would be my list of batters that are thereabouts and possibly have the potential to make the step up.
I've included a few national players that need work and are part of the future
Top tier guys-
Bawa
Taruvinga
Hlabangana
Ali Frost
Matt Campbell
Matt Welch
Kaitano- needs that one shot fixed.
Marumani
Madhevere
Shumba
Musekiwa
Myers

Next level
Kamwemba
Ronak Patel
Senzere
Blignaut

Haven't given it too much thought, have obviously missed a couple of guys.

Thats already too many guys to deal with, but on top of that they're guaranteed to jam in a whole bunch of Chigumbura Academy guys that don't have a snowball's. Not on top of that actually, we already know that a few of the right guys will miss out and theyre going to waste a lot of time on the wrong choices.

You can only really give 5 or 6 guys 100% attention, even that's a lot. Even then you're not focusing on one guy.

The mistake will be focusing on 18-21 year olds that dont have the goods when there are a number of older guys with real ability that dont have too much to fix.

It's going to be a head shaker watching Houghton have to deal with guys he doesnt want to.
