The issue here... Is that 6/7 are very niche roles in a T20 side.

They're basically never going to score 50s. If they're averaging over 20, they're probably not playing the role properly. Musekiwa's 11 off 7 today is more or less what he's in the team for. Specialist bat at 7 in a T20 side is a thankless task.

Top order players like Curran and Welch would not be queueing up to have a go at that gig.

In reality, what you want in those roles is the 2 guys you think have the most chance of getting 18 off 7 balls at the end of an innings. The guys most likely to hit a long ball from ball 1, and least likely to nudge it because they're scared over getting out for single figures. Rightly or wrongly, they've gone with Munyonga and Musekiwa for those roles. They may or may not be the best players for that role, but just suggesting people who have scored top order runs isn't a fair comparison. There is so little domestic T20, and it is of a sufficiently low standard, that there are no viable stats that could be used as worthwhile evidence for replacements.

What a win!

Maybe the clearest and most convincing in years.

2025 is a landmark year where Zimbabwe has played a lot of international matches and results have come.

Zimbabwe bowlers with a collective economy of 5 in a T20.

This is a message that was unconceivable only 8-9 months ago.

Aw what the actual fuck.
How has Evans not even been recognised here with that bowling performance...

Absolutely embaressing and he should be fuming. Why did Ngarava get a shout out

Imagine if we replaced the batting passengers. We'd be a decent team perhaps. For basically the first time in history in T20.

If Maru is out injured for the next game, I still don't see why Musekiwa can't be given shot as an opener. I know they will use Myers, but when he does connect the ball, he hits it sweetly which is key for the opening powerplay

We seem to always play our best cricket against Sri Lanka. Got no idea why.

I don't think Musekiwa is necessarily a passenger but they could be better options. Munyonga hasn't been able to hit a clean 6 in ages and needs time to get going. I think we are better off having Burl at 6 and Myers at 3 in this current squad. Williams needs to be replaced. Give Dion or Welch a straight 10 match run like what they have done for Tony and I can guarantee you one of them will come off.

This is the highest level. BT was completely beaten for pace. I think he needs to change his batting position. Him at 5 in the middle overs might actually be another solution because he can work gaps easily then gain some momentum. Coming in during the power play isn't as easy as people think

Superb win.. comprehensive and clinical. Congratulations to all the fans!!!

Still the middle order remains a question, surely Munyonga has to go and once again serious questions over BT being suitable for T20s. At least I don't think so.

Zimbabwe do not have any fixtures before T20 WC or do they? B Curran should be tried at least once in place of BT and probably Madhevere is a better option than Munyonga, if there is no one else. Another option is Naqvi if he ever qualifies for Zimbabwe in his lifetime!!!
