This is a good game.
A big part of our problem is every single other team looks 10 years older than us. Theyre nearly all fully developed men.

WI bottled what would have been an epic run chase.
Theyve got some good players.

Zimbos, to a man and woman want WI to win against Australia and England, but want to live, work and enjoy the benefits of Australia and England.
When you figure that out you have solved the riddle.

I see on X Jonty is saying 9 of our players will still be eligible next WC.
What if theyre once again not our 9 best players?
There's absolutely no guarantee they'll improve either. What it does signal is that regardless of the outcome this WC theyre soldiering on with "the plan."
I think this is completely untrue though.

Wouldn’t be like Jonty to deal in untruths

I see the Zimbabwe School Cricket page is now being run by ZC. Interesting article by Jonty prepping the way for "the new plan," guaranteeing we will be up to speed with the big boys by 2028. If only it came with an actual guarantee they'd include some better players when the plan backfires, or just step aside and let people with "the right plan" have a go.

And a pic of Chiwaula, the poster boy of courage under fire, with some wise words about distancing yourself from various things, presumably they also mean Coltart and the cabal. I think there might be an actual boot camp in there somewhere, we've seen glimpses of how these youngsters are interacting with a few of our franchise players. Another message saying we can't hope to beat 3 billion people from India. I guess another one is on standby in case we lose to 9 billion Bangladeshis.
We are going down a very bad path here.

Lets hope the private schools are still offering cricket as a sport by then. Maybe they'll downgrade it to a hobby. You have to choose a sport, a hobby and a club. Maybe mini-cricket or french cricket so they can put in some pickle ball and paddle ball nets.

Ive been going thru some of the school scorecards. 100 is a huge total now.....for an entire team. 50-70 seems to be the norm. If 200 schools average 50, is it better than 6 schools averaging 200? Where are the better players coming from?

If we dont beat 9 billion Bangladeshis next game I think we have to play qualification games. But if one guy gets a 3fer, or a 50 or hits a huge 6 "the future is bright."but it has to be a huuuge 6.

My first look at the Aussies. Serious batters. This Peake kid is somebody. Wow.
As a Victorian i reckon he looks the goods. The teams that have had players play domestic cricket and do well, have shown how far ahead of the others kids they are.
