Need to wrap up the match as soon as possible,Zim needed a good NRR.
Seems like Marumani was the who had the NRR in his mind

Very easy win overall but I still have enormous concerns over BT and his ability to play T20 style.

On these slow turning wickets he isn't going to score at more than a strike rate of 100 I don't think. Seam might be different but, against the spin, he's going to heavily rely on that sweep shot

That did look like a dirty wicket to bat on though. Really slow and difficult to play any real enterprising shots on, so I'm not overly concerned.

Definitely a good start.

Good performance by Brendan Taylor this time.

Can’t believe old raza retired him with 6 runs to get. The NRR argument falls with so few runs to get, he should have done it sooner. He just wanted the winning runs himself didn’t he

Retired hurt, after yet another hamstring tweak. Not retired out.

Raza is saying Taylor may have a serious injury. Well he went there carrying several, what do they expect? We know he can score at 80% strike rate, absolutely zero pressure. When we need to chase 170 he has no plan. Everyone carrying Taylor, the selectors, Raza etc.
Which team selects an injury prone 40 year old that won't or can't play big shots when the bowling gets tight? Absolutely backwards selection.

Great bowling effort. Blew Oman away on what looked like a difficult pitch. Really nice innings from Bennett and brilliant catch.

If taylor is out of the world cup, nick welch should be named as his replacement with marumani keeping wickets.

Other people who come to my mind atm are Ben Curran, who is yet to make his debut in T20I & Antum Naqvi, idk about him, people were saying he is cleared to play for zim in jan 2026 but the selectors left him out. Nick welch has some prior experience of T20I.

Anyways, this was going to happen to Taylor sooner than later. Honestly, I don't think he can make it to 2027 odi world cup at home.. but with williams in rehab, ervine out with injuries, I can see why the selectors picked Taylor for this t20 world cup. Ervine was Zimbabwes most successful t20i captain yet they dropped him. He can do what Taylor did today.. run a ball but I guess Ervine being 40 and down with injuries makes sense for the selectors to drop him from t20i and relieve him of captaincy duties in tests & odis.
