T20 World Cup Match 3 - Zimbabwe vs Ireland (17th February)

Post by zimfan1 »

Here we go, one win from the next two matches will mean that we will qualify.

I hate Ireland with a passion, goes back to before they were a full member and they would hammer Zimbabwe in the press. Will be a close game, I feel Ireland are the better batting side whilst we have the edge with the ball.

Match is being played on the same wicket as the Sri Lanka vs Australia game.

I'm more nervous about this game than the game against Australia due to whats on the line and I don't want it come down to the final game against Sri Lanka given the confidence Sri Lanka is playing with.

Raza wanted this squad, he got it. But everybody knows Curran comes straight in for BT. BT was needed in this world cup squad since Ervine was long dropped from T20Is & Williams was sidelined due to rehab. Now that BT is injured, Curran is the best man to bat through those middle overs. No Myers no Tony no Musekiwa comes close. If they go with the same playing XI, there is a chance Ireland might come out on top if they blow Zimbabwes top order and see off Muzarabani. If Ngarava is fit, he should play but not at the expense of Cremer. Ireland will definitely struggle against Cremer. Tough spot to be in but I think Raza should back Cremer and drop Wellington for this match. Curran comes in for Myers. If Zimbabwe go with the same playing XI and ends up on the losing side, everybody is gonna say they didnt play the right guys for this game so lets see what happens

Would be very unlike of Raza if he drops Myers & Wellington but that is exactly what he needs to do right now

Would mean that we would qualify. But think we will get a game, just light drizzle apparently.
