End of play on day 1, Marumani and Myers with 50s. Ervine on 42*. Mountaineers bowling attack looks pretty average. Matty and Nick Welch both playing. Keen to see how they go.

Rhinos 288 all out
Burl 107*
Tinotenda Maposa 3/47
Bechani 3/68
Burl back playing First Class cricket and getting some runs.
I find it crazy that there are guys batting in the top three for our premier domestic sides that haven’t made first class centuries for, in some cases, 5-6 years.
I hate to say it but someone is going to get dropped from the test to team to make way for Cremer according to the "quota system"
I really don't know why these hidden unsaid quotas are being persisted with.
Zimbabwean fans have been more than clear they just want a winning team.
Beating Aus and SL trumps giving Munyonga and co a go everytime.
It's not like the opposite means black people are frozen out. Our best pace bowler isn't going anywhere. We wouso have won so many more games if not for 1/2 Dogg selections which went to exactly how we knew it would be.
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:

- Despite being unknowns in their own country, these Pakistanis are a several notches ahead of our guys.
- Welch Jr flops and Welch Sr fails to convert his starts.
- CORRECTION: 1 × 100s (Burl 107*), 3 × 50s this round. All in the 1st innings.
