Nelch king of starts at the moment. His had a poor year but still averaging close to 30. Seems to bat better in second innings.
Out for a 2 ball duck in his 2nd dig.
Ooops lol
I put the commentators curse on him

I have some time to burn. Quick summaries for those who can't be bothered to check the scorecards.

Rhinos v Mountaineers:
- Brandon Mavuta back for the Rhinos
- Evans with the armband
- Cricinfo says Villan Changa is keeping, so Mayavo is playing as a pure batsman.
- Rhinos batted first and were bowled out for 243 (Musakanda 56; Masekesa 4/76)
- Seems Matty Welch was dropped for debuting Tatenda Chimugoro.
- Nick Welch gets a start and fucks it up.
- Mountaineers all out for 127 in their first innings.
- Another Pakistani, Zaman Khwaja, rocks up and gets a 5-fer on his FC debut

Eagles v Rocks:
- Ervine with another ton.
- 50s for Kamunhukamwe and Kamwemba.
- Shelton Mazvitorera playing his 2nd FC game for the Rocks. His middle name is Harbhajan by the way.
- Eagles first innings: 362/8 dec.
That's the same Pakistani seamer who has been playing for the Rhinos all season. They've just messed up his name.
Zaman Khwaja was born in Zim and played for Zim U19s

Are you sure? Never seen that name before in any youth squad.

Seems typical Zimbabwe. The openers in the national side are very set and the best preforming domestic players are openers as well.

Yeah, typical. At least we have some options up top.

Fair to say Innocent Kaia is next in line if either Curran or Bennett are unavailable. He can also come in at first drop with Nick Welch moving down to 5.

Matthew Campbell is putting together some decent numbers as well. A run in the A side will do him a world of good.

Switching gears, earlier I mentioned Villan Changa keeping instead of Mayavo. If Mayavo is supposed to be Tsiga’s backup in the Test side but isn’t even keeping for his franchise, that’s a bit worrying. If Tsiga gets injured, we may be forced to fast-track Kamwemba or any one of the youngsters.

Speaking of Kamwemba he has performed reasonably well with the bat. I don't know if his keeping is good enough though. He definitely needs a run in the A side first. Taruvinga is another option. His stats suggest he has potential with the bat, but he hasn’t been keeping. Maybe he moves to Tuskers or Mountaineers and takes the gloves?

I don't see Welch getting near the squad, sadly. The bloke is so talented but it hasn't happened this season for him.

Evans has had a complete 180 turn around since this time last year. Very much the golden boy now. How fickle is cricket..

And quietly Jono Campbell has again scored a solid half century.
