Michael frost takes another 4 wickets.
The selectors (and Frost himself) will need to make a decision at some point if A' Team selection is on the cards. As it stands, we have a sparse selection of spin options. Cremer is not a T20 bowler, Wellington Mazakadza has shown he can keep it tight but does not take wickets and then I'm struggling to think of any others.
Frost is taking wicket in 50 over cricket, at home, and at a good economy rate. With a CWC a year away this is going to be really interesting times for him; does he stick or twist?

Also just noticed that Ronak Patel has scored another List A half century. Absolute numbers game here in terms of options and batter. The more in form players the better.

Would love to see a resurgence in the Welch sisters. They've got such talent and clearly have the shots. Want them both desperately to turn that potential into results; we're going to need batting options after this WC for sure! I reckon the next opening option with Curran up top will be either Campbell, Kai (always rated him) or allow Bennett to do his thing again.

Michael Frost has already played for Ireland "A" remember so it would be a surprise if he went back to Zim.
Matthew Welch is done by the looks of it. Think Nick will still cling onto his test spot but averaging 22 in the Pro 50 is not going to get him selected for white ball. I know Sloan you think that I have a downer on both Welch's but if they can't score runs in our weak domestic competition then they can't feel hard done by. As with Ben Curran and Brad Evans, if you top the leaderboards domestically you will get selected.
Think it is to fair to question the mental approach of the Welch brothers compared to the Campbells. Matthew and Jonno are far more limited players but are aware of their limitations and play within themselves. Compared to Nick in particular who plays far too many shots and is not willing to wait for the bad ball.
Time will tell but I expect both Matthew and Jonno to play for Zimbabwe in the next couple of years and at this rate I would be surprised if Nick plays more than a couple more tests.
Where I have sympathy for Nick Welch is his first T20 series in Namibia. He should never have gone on that tour and his numbers are still being held against him.

Melch can bounce back from what was no doubt a terrible season. Throwing in the towel because of one bad season would be such a pussy move.

At that age as well...
Had really promising seasons aged 20 and 21, and was picked for ZIm A, and a crappy one aged 22.
Plenty of good players hadn't even debuted at 22.

Surely matty welch isn't done. I know he's had a poor season but to write him off would be a bit much.
Yea its a strange one, with Nick. He's evidently got what it takes to score runs internationally, yet he absolutely has struggled domestically when less talented players have thrived. I've never watched matt Campbell or Jono Campbell bat but everyone says they're quite limited players.
Taruvinga looks to be a prospect

Kamunhukamwe has had a wonderful season. Definately makin the A side as least.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Re: Logan Cup & Pro50: Rocks v Eagles | Rhinos v Mountaineers
People talk about limited players and talented players etc but ultimately what matters is runs. Most people said Brian Bennett was limited and would be found out against good bowling, yet he is gone on to be one of our most successful batsmen of the the last 25 years. Vusi Sibanda was talented but never kicked on. I think talent can be overrated, temperament is really the more important factor. In defence of Nick Welch, he has scored 3 test 50s in 7 matches along with a 49 and a 47* so he can clearly bat and perhaps those innings carry far greater weight than domestic runs? That being said, domestic form does have to count for something.

Nick Welch has kinda looked to me, like someone who might not always look like he will star but step up to what ever standard is put in front of him.
