A very interesting read. The least you can say about him is that he puts forward his side of the story sensibly and eloquently... Any more than that is difficult to comment, although there is significant evidence to suggest that some of what he says may be fiction...

This is indeed an interesting interview, at the very least because he has come out in the open and has given his side of the story, as aydee said. And a few things here match with this old article (2005) in the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2005/ja ... t.features

But we would never get complete clarity on any of the issues that have happened before. May be, there could been a more transparent approach to bring about inclusiveness, as they did in South Africa (not many people liked that approach as well), but still things are very hazy. Now that he has come out in the open, he is more accountable to his own comments, and let us hope for a better future at least.

I have read several times that Ozias Bvute in person is a very charming and articulate man, and this seems to be an example. We will never know exactly what went on in 2004-05 and how the board operates at the moment, but he deserves a chance to defend himself. But why did he say cricket only integrated in 2001? That seems quite bizarre because several black players had been tried out before then, some successfully and others not so much, and it was only about 2001 that the youngsters who had been introduced to cricket pre and post-1992 came onto the scene in big numbers, which was natural and inevitable and had never been disputed by the cricket community. That struck me as odd.

its not about white or blacks anymore

its about cricketers and Administrators as the game is run my people who do not have cricket's best intrest at heart

but in the last two years we have gone back to the drawing board and started again and it will take time, i belive that we need to continue the progress being made but most of all need to invest the icc's money into the club cricket

but this wont happen as the clubs are now seperate to the ZU, eg i know that down at keweke sports club they have taken atters into there own hands and are playing there own leagues

I read that after the rebel exodus in 2004,Mark Vermeulen was offered by ZC not to play an ODI,so that they can give Stuart Matsikenyeri a chance to play as an opener.Moreover they will pay Vermeulen the full match fees,but 'dont play'

Now Mark Vermeulen is hoped to return in the national side,I hope that the same thing will not happen again.

I think,Matsikenyeri is treated as a very important player for the team.He is tested in the middle order and now in no 3.But was never dropped.Can you guys remember the vital 3 runs he scored more than Chibhabha in the series against Sri Lanka last year,for which he was selected for the Bangladesh tour.

I guess,Tiba is the nickname of Taibu.

Well,Taibu was to play some club cricket in Bangladesh.But some days ago I dont know the exact reason but the contract was broken.

Different reports indicate that Taibu has returned to Zimbabwe and preparing to stand infront of the court for the case.
