Day/nighters coming to Zimbabwe?

Day/night cricket for Zimbabwe on the cards

In the commentary for the 1st ODI, Alistair Campbell revealed that Queens Sports Club and Harare Sports Club could be hosting day/night cricket in the future.

Campbell said that while Test cricket was the ultimate test for players, it is Twenty20 cricket that will get young people interested in the game and as day/night cricket has never been played in Zimbabwe it will be an experience for fans, while night cricket will allow for larger attendances.
This is something Zimbabwe cricket has needed for a long time. I wonder what the electricity situation in Harare and Bulawayo is like now?

Far from reliable if you're relying on ZESA, from what I hear. They'll need to get their own generators in place, if the grounds don't already have them.

Authority should take necessary steps to introduce D/N match in Zimbabwe. If it's used in domestic cricket also, the player will be get used play under floodlights which will help them forward and while playing in big tournaments like WC/T20 WC/CT etc and even in the foreign series, I mean in the D/N ODI's.

We need this, especially with this new franchise system. It could improve attendance, on the electricity issue..i agree with maehara, ZESA is unreliable. I am sure ZC can buy generators for all the domestic grounds, and we can try use floodlights for the Metbank Twenty20 for a start.
