Curran was outperformed by Mahmood in every match so far. His pace is great for a 17 year old as i saw him crank it up to 136 clicks. Was that an effort ball as he is so slightly built and his average pace seemed to be around 125? His ability to swing the ball is superb given how reluctant the ball is to move through the air in Bd. He's too short to make an out and out fast bowler unless he gets up to express pace. But if he develops pace to were 135 is average sustained pace while swinging the ball he could be very good. He's te best swing bowler since Jimmy Anderson I reckon.

Huge call. I maintain he's a better batsman. He's got a chance today, he's in and set and just has to apply himself. Again no pressure because there's not a lot at stake, but I see he's up to no 5 today. Maybe they read my post?

He hits everything straight out the sweet spot. If the ball gets a bit big he steps out of line and plays with a cross bat so the ball still comes off the same spot on his bat. It takes great hand eye to do this, but he's not exactly in line and now you're playing a lower percentage cricket shot. When you're in form you get away with it, but when you're out of nick it looks messy. He closes his bat off a lot on his onside shots, could perhaps hit it more in the V. Slightly more back foot than front foot. The cute reverses and ramps I don't like. Actually reverse is good because if you practice it enough you won't have to predetermine it. The ramp is just a crap shot.

If you're going to predetermine you should be good enough to have two shots to choose from and then it works.
