If you believe all the things said about Utseya's special relations with the powers that be (and who wouldn't?), you could read it like this:ZIMDOGGY wrote:Good question,
What is the anti Brent sentiment from ZC all about?
He was sublime when he was in charge.
A lot of people will just say it's a race thing but i don't buy it, more to it than that.
Racial prejudice against the pigmentally challenged may be a factor but there's plenty of them floating around the set up, in and out of the action, such as Robin Brown and AC.
So why was Brent so out of favour despite being the ideal candidate for national bowling coach ?
-- Brent drops Prosper from the Goats' Logan Cup side (for Mushangwe) and tells him to concentrate on limited overs only (knowing full well that in Bones he's got a very capable offie waiting in the wings, should Prosper jump ship)
-- Pro runs sulking back to Harare/Eagles, complaining about Brent trying to ruin his career
-- Some time goes by, then Pro's buddies oust both Brents at Mountaineers ...
I think as long as Utseya has as much clout with ZC as he apparently has, Brent will never ever be asked to coach anywhere near the national side. On the other hand I find it hard to imagine Brent wants such a job as long as the people who treated him and his uncle the way they did are still in charge.
