A good quick job finishing off the Tuskers this morning and a 307 run lead to take into the last day with 5 wickets in hand, a few quick runs are called for tomorrow to take it well away from Tuskers, and then set Brighton and Graeme on them

Superb result from THE team
Great idea zimfan1, our very first post has indeed been edited to show the date of the official 'Rhinos Celebration Day'. I would now expect a large amount of additional cricket lovers to apply for membership of The Official Midwest Rhinos Supporters Club
Get that scorecard sorted ZC, we want to see ALL the details of our rhinotastic demolition job of the Tuskers as soon as possible please, we would also like to know who else was in the side

Re: The Official Midwest Rhinos Supporters Club
Well boys, thanks to Robin we have some info on our all conquering team at last
He says that cricinfo have teamsheets but that an accurate scorecard is still outstanding.
The XI were, Sibanda, Kasteni, Chapungu, Waller, Nyathi, Chikunya, Mire, Cremer, Mugochi, Rainsford & Mpofu with Mavhiko the 12th man, if the cricinfo squad details are correct that means Muzarabani, Mahlunge, Chinouya, Chitongo, Gupo and Mutyambizi were the men not selected with Taylor still to return to Zim.
If all info is correct, then i'm very surprised that Muzarabani, Mahlunge and Chinouya were left out, but if we've won our opening match with an understrength side then that's even better than we all thought

Re: The Official Midwest Rhinos Supporters Club
We have a scorecard for the Faithwear game at last
which is on the game thread, although still nothing for the Logan
The XI were Chapungu, Chikunya, Kasteni, Sibanda, Taylor, Waller, Cremer, Mire, Nyathi, Muzarabani & Rainsford
Some good performances by a number of the lads but Taylor and Mire take the largest round of applause for their 152 run partnership in just less than 16 overs, while the entire team did very well in the field to fight back and bring Tuskers down from 109-1.
Bring on the Eagles tomorrow

bit of match report on the Logan cup game in order to gather a bit more of the scorecards
Midwest Rhinos top Logan Cup
By Mehluli Sibanda
MIDWEST Rhinos are on top of the log in the country’s premier first class competition the Logan Cup after they beat Matabeleland Tuskers by 135 runs in their first match played at Kwekwe Sports Club, a match which ended last Thursday.
A century by Midwest Rhinos captain Vusumuzi Sibanda who made 130 runs and half centuries from Friday Kasteni (67) and Graeme Cremer (63) saw the home side post 319 runs in their first innings. Pace bowler Christopher Mpofu picked up three wickets for 67 runs, fellow seamers Gregory Strydom, Tawanda Mupariwa and Taurai Madhiri picked up two wickets apiece.
Leg spinner Cremer went on to pick up five wickets for 74 runs as the Matabeleland Tuskers managed 237 runs in their first innings.
Mark Vermeulen was the highest run scorer for Matabeleland Tuskers with 48 runs while Mupariwa was second best with 47 runs.
Kasteni followed up his half century with 101 runs not out and Cremer chipped in with an unbeaten 54 runs as the Rhinos declared their second innings on 288 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Set a target of 371 runs to win the match, Matabeleland Tuskers had no chance of winning the match and the best they could have achieved was a draw because of the amount of time left.
Vermeulen top-scored once again with 73 runs batting at number three while Thabo Mboyi was second best with 48 runs not out.
Cremer picked up three more wickets to take his tally to eight wickets. Taurai Muzarabani, Brighton Mugochi and Edward Rainsford took two wickets each to lead the Rhinos to victory.
The Rhinos welcome star batsman Brendan Taylor who has been playing club cricket in the United Kingdom and arrived in the country on Friday.
For the Matabeleland Tuskers, it is back to the drawing board and a week's break from action will help coach Robin Brown to reflect on what went wrong in the match against the Midwest Rhinos.
In a match played at Harare Sports Club, Mashonaland Eagles failed to utilise home advantage with their match against the Mountaineers ending in a draw. The Mountaineers now take on the Southern Rocks who had a bye in the first round in a match set for the Zimbabwe Cricket Academy in Harare.
Logan Cup fixtures: 22-25 September, Midwest Rhinos v Mashonaland Eagles (Harare Sports Club), Mountaineers v Southern Rocks (Zimbabwe Cricket Academy).
