Cricinfo suggests Williams leaving for rebel Indian T20 leag
Any word on if this is true? Would be yet another disappointing departure if its the case.

Yeah, its about being in the list of probables as of now. The link above also mentions Hamilton Masakadza along with Williams. And Sikandar Raza retweeted this a couple of days back:
If all three get embroiled in this potential controversy, we are as good as done and dusted when it comes to competitive cricket.

If they have actually signed up, they don't have to leave...their international careers are done. The IPL/BCCI will not sanction the league and force all ICC members to immediately cut all players and ban them. According to the ICC, its an unsanctioned league so any players who play cannot play in or even train in any ICC affiiliated facility.ZIMDOGGY wrote:Where's the leaving part though?

If Money is there, then surely Zimbabweans might join the rebel league, because ZC offers less salary & incentives, here they could earn a alot.
Everything was going ok for Zimbabwe till 2003, they were improving every day, but RACIAL POLICY changed the whole set up in Zimbabwe Cricket. Financial position of Zimbabwe Cricket are now worst due to lack of good administration and dirty politics, Now Players are happy to play domestic cricket in various country and earn then representing Zimbabwe

Gents, a mountain is being made out of a molehill, i spoke to Raza last week after he signed up and it has no impact on ones international career, it is a short tournament due to be played when we have no international cricket.
No problem, lets move on

If Raza thinks that then I think he needs to be quickly disabused of the idea. Don't think the ICC/BCCI will let players participate in an unsanctioned T20 league and then play international cricket, especially as I believe Danish Kaneria is involved.zimfan1 wrote:Gents, a mountain is being made out of a molehill, i spoke to Raza last week after he signed up and it has no impact on ones international career, it is a short tournament due to be played when we have no international cricket.

If BCCI don't recognize it then it's Everest. It would be good to know if any owners/financiers from the IPL have anything to do with it. On the face of it, it would appear that another tournament would detract from the IPL. Most of those cricketers are players either endings their careers or not getting lucrative T20 gigs though, but there are a couple of current players amongst them. It's an interesting development and the Kerry Packer saga will be weighing heavily on the minds of the powers that be.
