You going to reply to what Eugene said about your stats and Utseya, Ervine and Cremer?

Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
There mere fact that one chose to make Maruma the subject of their sarcasm as opposed to Malcolm Waller actually says a lot.
Anyway this is a "Williams Watch" thread. There'll be plenty of positive and negative things to post about him.
Not posting irrelevant stuff just to avoid the elephant in the room would be much appreciated.

Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
It's the heart-wrenching games that are by far the most entertaining, ultimately. Sure, it would've been nice if we could have steamrollered that side that was above us in the ODI rankings (until half-an-hour ago), but hey. Nothing beats the communal mayhem of following a close match with fellow fans, be that at the ground, on Twitter, or here. (Even if you'd all buggered off for the first half of Zim's innings.bavuma_rabada wrote:the fans' consolation is a heart-wrenching match?

This from the person who drags more threads off-topic than he keeps on-topic...bavuma_rabada wrote:Not posting irrelevant stuff just to avoid the elephant in the room would be much appreciated.
Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
No one is calling for Waller's inclusion, so there is no one to have an argument with. It's not an issue to get worked up over.
But you are calling for Williams exclusion, even though you also have him in your teams regularly (so you can quote yourself either way, I suppose) and in spite of the fact he is top class as far as Zim is concerned.
Perhaps your dislike for him isn't racist, perhaps you have a moral problem with him or something, I don't know.

Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
No racism. These are all genuine cricekt discussions. How easily it is to overlook the Black man. How his dip in form is easily noticeable and dropped, but not that of a white man.
Hamilton Masakdza captained Zimbabwe in one Test and was magnificent but few called for him to replace Raza. Chigumbura in the middle of top form, was replaced by Raza for just one match, and all of a sudden some were saying he must replace Elton in T20s, some ODIs, now many are saying he must be Test captain? It is this ability to forget other players so easily - Hami, Chakabva, Chibhabha, Panyangara all of whom have captained at various levels in such discussions - that concerns me.
Chigumbura can be dropped tomorrow and replaced by as captain by Raza while Williams&Malcolm Waller remain in that squad and this forum will act all normal. None of will say "I quit ZImbabwe cricket" as some often say on certain weak developments. Cremer&Price were dropped for genuinely poor form, and the anger then, far outstrips that linked to Hami's dropping now.
I doubt many of you even pay sufficient attention to Williams. Your solution is "#BringBackHamiNow", not balme the coaches&selctors, and if you won't blame them then surely it must be "The selectors&coaches are right so "#WilliamsMustGoToo".
To this day no one(I think) has tried to comment on their role in all this and if they are bring right or wrong, fair or biased, stupid or bright?

Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
You clearly think Williams is one of our best middle-order batsmen.

Do you think he should be dropped because of poor form or do you follow the class is permanent argument? I think he should be persisted with because he, along with Hammy, is our best batsman. There are some players who have earned a longer leash than others and Williams is one of them, Hammy should be one of them also.Everything about Sean says middle order batsmen. Period. In fact until I joined this forum, I had never heard or imagined I would hear his name being considered for the top 3...I can picture him & Vusi batting together in the latter overs. When they play themselves in, I can't think of more fluid batters in our potential lineup and that's what we should look forward to, not him trying to stave off the new ball with the Steyns, Johnsons, Zaheers, Broads, Guls & Southees of this world coming at him in full flow!

Malcolm is a top lad but unfortunately I don't think he is good enough for International Cricket. Buuuuuut he still is a handyish bowler at times and averages 20.
Maruma averages 9. Doesn't bowl. So hhm, shut up ...
Williams is class. Hammy is class. <mod edit>Personal insult deleted

Waller averages more than double Maruma in ODIs. If Waller is bad, lord knows what word we can use to describe Maruma.

Re: SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15
Hami & Williams are not class. Good in ZImbabwe's standards but not no class. That is why one is a 30 average player, and the other doesn't have a century despite e.g. Raza getting a century from batting lower.
I've already said this before, against weak opposition I see no problem in blanket changes to the team (just a problem with Hami dropped but Williams not on the basis of form). 2015 post world cup, was the best time to do that and give fringe players a long run. After all ZImbabwe needs to develop the future and benhc strength. Obviously next year with the T20 CWC coming up, a long T20 series would have been organised for the seniors who will inevitably be picked to play there. But I don't really see the need for them to be playing in these tours.
Stop talking about Maruma to derail genuine threads. You're welcome to continue discussing him amongst yourself using your foul language. I will not get involved.
If you want to discuss Malcolm Waller start by discussing how he was selected and is playing ahead of so many players who outperformed in domestic cricket. Any attempt to discuss anything else about him is downright bias. I have not included him anywhere in any of my squads for a very very long time because he has done nothing to even be worth discussing. I will not be dragged into discussions about his relevance to anything anymore!!!
