I have no proof as I haven't seen them bat, I'm just going off reports from Googly, Flakeman etc ......

I guess the fact they have scholarships shows they're pretty decent .....

As for Kriterion's question I really don't know all I know is if we still had BRMT, KJ and the kids we would be stronger than we are. As fans we are realistic we don't expect to be number one but beating Afghanistan and Ireland should be expected and the odd series win against other full members would be nice ......

Agree. Only in case of Welch we saw him open and score 50s in the Logan Cup at the age of 15 against the big boys, so certainly would have grown in the system had he continued, and we have read and heard a lot about Byrom too. Currna brothers have obviously done well in England. Many other names had yet to prove a major point even at their own level.

Angus curtis's success is well documented, grabing awards in sa
& his record speaks a lot .... too bad he is not in zim so his accomplishments are not that known by evry1 but if he was based here certainly he would or should be making noise either same as nick & ed or b8r than the 2

hopper, lock & evans ..... no idea if they are really worth the praise & just unlikely to be under the shadows of welch & byrom but i believe they are that gud
eg hopper won allrounder of the year sherborne cricket club & this also in his first season
from an interview by chawaguta 2 years ago about zim u16 he certainly showed he rated lock & hopper " nothing about evans in that article though"
i believe those 2 also wer rated above ryan murray at johns college
as they played first team ahead of him .. not too sure as it was a while ago but th

also during that tour they might have lost only 1 game
without welch as he was playing for u15s whilst lock, hopper& evans wer in the u16s

1 thing is certainly clear they are ahead of our current crop of u19s& some fc players & considering their age & progress they can make we have 2 really make a noise about them

Welch would have been a prospect for sure had he stayed !

Byrom a handy cricketer too..

Currans obviously really good. Tom extremely arrogant and not a very nice lad though.

Lock was ok...nothing to write home about. Also a huge attitude on him. Really didnt like him.

Evans was ok...good ball skill but not fantastic.

Hopper was just a very average player...nothing more, nothing less.

Burl really will be a big name one day I think if he stays.

Mumba isnt all that hes made to be on here. Hes improved in the last two years for sure but not immensely.

Musoko really has lost his pace that was his main asset.

Diplock could be really good but lacks the fitness commitment.

Never seen much of Chamhimiwa.

Bottom line is ZC steal far too much cash and are useless and chasing players away literally. Conclusion - End of competitive cricket in Zim thanks to a few selfish humans....I really want to use worse words. Cheers ZC !

I also happen to know franchise players outside the tiny contracted group have not been paid for the last 2 and a half months.

One guy in a team, his dad is very ill. He went to try get the money ZC owed him to pay to help his hospitalised father, he went to the main office and they refused to give him his money. Said they didnt have it. The poor guy has to play frikken cricket now for free and worry about never being paid while his dad is on his death bed ? Honestly what the $!#$ is going on in terms of morality? When your splashing $ 400 000 on board members and their family trips?????

It's disgusting. It's what the Players' Union is for. Also shows the divide and rule tactic is alive and well. The players can just refuse to play, it's all it takes. I'm sorry to say this but they almost deserve to get treated badly.

Sorry I take that back. They deserve shoddy treatment. They need to get organised, they need to ensure the back stabbers do not represent them, and they need to ensure the bulk of the guys sign up. There's only about 50 guys to get pulling in one direction. If I recall Taibu had the same issue with a death in the family and no salary to sort the problem?

That story is just awful Flakeman. Why do we even get behind this team?

I knew him before he left a few years back. His own team mates used to hide his kit bag at school because hardly anyone liked him. Extremely full of himself.

I know, Crimson. Couldnt happen to a nicer bloke too.
