Well said.eugene wrote:By equal opportunity, I am meaning removing institutionalised racism and providing pathways for a player who has shown talent. No sport can ever be truly equal opportunity, someone without any arms is never going to play international cricket no matter how much money is spent. Bu this scenario shouldn't lead to turning a blind eye to injustices that can be easily resolved.

Re: Namibian Cricket
I personally think there are many forward thinking leader's out there like wilson manase but these guys ozias bvute, chingoka ,mukuhlani and the brains behind this crew wilfried mukondiwa are the ones who are to blame they feed ordinary zim fans with lies that zc is broke etc but I think millions pass through zc accounts and thousands are stolen under the disguise that its development funds they got rid of campbell because they thought that he would expose them . If u analyze the ratio between the players we have and the funds we get surely we shouldn't be in debt .tymcen maruma had potential but wasn't ready to play international cricket but ozias and crew decided to pick him to make the team more to their liking thats what happens when u appoint a guy who doesn't know anything about cricket .the way forward I think we need guys like Gavin Rennie,Andy Waller,Gavin Ewing,Stuart Carlisle
On the zc board because I think the zc board doesn't have former players and the other black board members are too terrified to challenge strange decisions that come from the top

Re: Namibian Cricket
The reason our cricket is dead is the same reason that 20 000 people are attending the President's birthday.
Re: Namibian Cricket
You need businessmen, accountants and lawyers that love and understand cricket. You need systems that have checks and balances. It's not relevant whether these people played at the highest level or not. It can be helpful in some instances but if you've spent 15 years playing cricket you are not likely to be equipped to be dealing with board room politics and admin. Sorry but it's true, as a rule there are better roles for ex cricketers.
Re: Namibian Cricket
Some of our cricketers, past and present would be well suited to menial duties that keep them at least 20km away from anything to do with cricket, like a type of restraining order! Self detonating ankle bracelets activated by gps proximity would be in order.
Re: Namibian Cricket
I imagine the calls for ex-cricketers to be involved in admin will cease once people release that includes Prosper Utseya.
