recently saw Kirsten getting linked with some coaching job in the sub continent. I personally don't mind a Zimbabwean solution of Streak or Andy Flower or even Duncan Fletcher , Dave Houghton etc. my ultimate Zim coaching staff would have Andy Flower as coach with Grant Flower and Heath Streak returning to their previous positions..I highly doubt we will see the Flower brothers any time soon considering the success Grant is having with Pakistan and the way Andy left Zim. Makhaya is definitely not experienced enough for the job.

I recall someone, possibly Hhm in one of his many guises saying how Grant was a shite batting coach and was only prepared to give BT throwdowns. The Pakistani's all specifically mention what a difference he's made. So we had one of the best guys, but thought he was shit and let him go or ensured he left by treating him like a c"*!
Now we're wanting him, AF, Streak, Houghton back? Is there anyone believing they cry themselves to sleep every night because they're not being offered jobs here? Let's get rid of these thieves and their hyena giggling sycophants in the lower rungs and there's an outside chance of normality.

Gary was the preferred candidate as early as the 16th of July Cricket Committee recommendation which i have had sight of. The sticking point at the current momment is the requirement to be paid per hour which from my indoor cricket days playing with Gary would suggest that he is just thinking of being a consultant and spend a lot of time with his kids. A figure of $500 an hour have been thrown about.

Grant and Dravid were considered but based on their current positions were not offered the post. Apparently Gary's consulting work with the batsman weighed heavily in his favour. Just no long term plan. It would be great to see a local experienced guy at the helm even Robin Brown .

My point is there's no one that's got any pearls of wisdom that turns out men into overnight winners. And there's no one queuing for the job, unless of course they're going to get paid $500 an hour, at that price you can get Donald Trump to come and do some motivational talks! The word is out that ZC treat the coaches like shit, constantly interfere and ultimately don't pay.
They need to pay all the coaches that they still owe money to. It's so arrogant to make a list of candidates and assume they are all praying for a call from ZC. They make my blood boil.

Mkhaya Ntini is certainly not the answer,
but, what do they expect from a head coach? theres not a person in the world that will transform them miraculously in 12 months like Googly said.

Be strategic, get the diaspora back. Thats how results will improve.

Ridiculous. Offensively so, to be honest.

He was a quota selection.

He came in 3 years too early and was kept around three years too late.

There was a brief time he grew into his role and was deserved (with every possibile help on the way) and he was on his game, but if you look at it as a whole then wankermelon is correct.

Just have a little look at his test record...

I agree that he was possibly introduced a little early and left a little late but that's what you do when you back someone to be good. They did it for the wrong reasons but he was a fine player. With cricket there are always a number of potential good 'uns and you have to pick one over the other and give him a fair crack of the whip. I like the way England have persevered with Ballance after his poor showing that highlighted some technical errors. When players see you aren't going to ditch them after a couple of poor games they can relax a little and play better. Being afraid to fail is the single worst feeling a player can have. It affects batters more than bowlers.

jason gellipse is another option, has a very good coaching
record and a huge plus is he has worked here before
closer to the likes of solomon mire, might help in
trying to lure hilton cartwright from aus. he has worked
here as coach before & has helped in development of
young players so he must have knowledge of whats wrong
and is not a stranger to zc games

Forget about Ballance, Currans, Welch and Byrom, we are begging to even bring back average players like Mire, Grandahomme, Hilton etc. to Zim. However, looking at our current players, these guys could still easily break into Zim national side.
