Ideal appointment especially with BRMT's contract in his final year with Notts it's important we can show him there's some decent people involved so we can entice him back ......

If Taylor were to come back, he could still play another 4-5 years...maybe even 8-9 if goes Misbah. Regardless, Streak did a great job in Bangladesh and did well during his stint in ZIM the first time as well. Would be the idea coach from all aspects.

Streak has to be the best compromise for all parties involved. his wage demands would also be nowhere near Dav's.I'm sure u can pay streak ntini and klusener with the money Whatmore was getting.

Streak would also have better luck convincing some guys to come back. Sean Ervine to me can be the immediate solution. his contract is due to expire this year and he has had a benefit season this year which would be the perfect way to sign out of county cricket. he almost came back before and I'm sure the thought of playing with his brother must be enticing.somebody needs to make this happen. I think Taylor can be convinced next year too.we just need this board to put the right structures in place. Jarvis for me has been lost for good.

Yeah we could cut Streak's, Klusener's and Ntini's money and split it between the MD and his best friends. Great idea.

I disagree actually.

i was thinking about it the other day.

Sean most likely wants 1x more world cup before he bows out for good, and to play alongside his little brother.
ZC have an immediate need for a qualified all rounder.

he is 33 going on 34.

Strangely, i think the best case scenario is Seanh actually jags a 1x season extension in county.

2.5 years is a long time till the next worldcup, but 1.5 years isnt. It also allows ZC a year to make the right moves and get it together.

Im sure Sean would extend his playing life for 2 years with the above benefits rather than fade into the distance.

Seriously, everyone wins, zimbabwe, the fans, Sean himself.

Let his career swansong be the 2019 world cup, on a high.

I really want Sean Ervine back. Quotes from a Sean Ervine interview:
“The lure of coming back to international cricket, to play in the same team as my brother, was pretty great.

“That wavered me towards playing for Zimbabwe. But I said ‘let me just test the waters and ask Zimbabwe Cricket to pay a portion of what they promised by a certain date just to see if they were actually legit’.

“When that date came there were no funds. So I rang them to ask why and they said they were just waiting on a few things.

“I said ‘you’re obviously not serious about this situation so I’m out’. I’d committed to Zimbabwe the day before but went back to Rod and Chalks to say what had happened, that I didn’t feel comfortable and that if their offer was still on the table I would take it.

“It was the right decision. Even though they’ve shown a lot of potential, Zimbabwe have really struggled. I get feedback from Craig all the time and they weren’t paid for playing at the last World Cup in Australia and New Zealand until three months afterwards.”
For Sean Ervine to come back, ZC needs to be serious and ''actually'' pay what's ''promised''.
