Yeah cut it out hhm, there was a bit of a discussion on the forum a while back and apparently it is a derogatory term.

All the more reason why it applies even more.
"P-a-k-i" was mentioned, can't say Pakistani is derogatory though.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 11:55 amYeah cut it out hhm, there was a bit of a discussion on the forum a while back and apparently it is a derogatory term.
Are there people of Pakistan origin on this forum?

It's the former that people were complaining about. I think aydee's might have been due to an autocorrect.pariah wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:34 pmAll the more reason why it applies even more.

"Pakistani" is the genuine way of addressing a person from Pakistan. That's like Indian, Zimbabwean. Nothing wrong there.
Even "Paaki" is some racist slur the British probably used to address muslims in a bad way perhaps. No other parts of the world considers that racist.
EDIT: So, there is an autocorrect in place. So hhm actually wanted to beat the system and wanted it to be the version some people consider derogatory so intentionally misspelled. Interesting.

We had the discussion, and apart from a few people, based on where they stay they expressed discomfort with the word.foreignfield wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:53 pmDoes that matter, or would you think it's okay to use the N-word on a KKK site, assuming it's only visited by hooded clowns?
What you are saying on the other hand is making things extreme.
You should find out why I asked the question.

Then don't expect me to note your misplaced concern.foreignfield wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 1:01 pmDon't be so touchy when people call you out on what you post. And sorry, no, I'm not going to ask for an explanation
The question still stands, who of Pakistan origin is an active member of this forum? Only those who know of one or happen to be one need respond.
