Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS

Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
Cremer is a gun. His returns this year have been really good, 28 wickets at 31.75 from 4 Tests as you say. He shoulders a lot of the load himself and unlike some of our other bowlers he has a knack for actually taking wickets (clean bowled, lbw's or caught in close). Some of other bowlers do over rely on cheap wickets like catches in the deep.
His economy is 3.38, a little high for Tests but he's a strike bowler - it comes with the territory. His strike rate is where it gets very impressive though - 56.3 (by comparison Warne's career SR was 57.4) which just proves what we already know in that yes he can get tonked out of the park when he bowls a bad ball but he takes wickets.

Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
I'd go with two changes with mpofu and Waller out and play donald tiripano and Chatara in just to allow the quicks to hold a end . Would love for byrom to come in but we all know I'm dreaming . Regis gets one more chance as I know he can bat at this level , sadly he's running out of chances , if he fails in another 2 Innings then I guess in a fresh series the selectors will have to look for fresh faces and try something new. Williams is seriously due and I'm backing him to bounce back his average of 27 or around that does not do him justice . Mire deserves to keep his spot and has some X factor to work around , many people said Warner wouldn't make it in the longer format . Yes different on so many levels but the talent is there and he has a sound technique with not to many floors . My 12 would be 1. Masakadza 2 .Mire 3. Ervine 4 . Taylor 5. Raza 6. Williams 7. Regis 8.tiripano 9.cremer 10. Jarvis 11. Chatara 12. Waller Williams cremer and Raza to bowl the slower stuff then you have Jarvis , chatara , tiripano , mire for the quick stuff .Id imagine the pitch is gonna turn but someone like donald will go for nothing and hold his end plus he can bat , while the others look for wickets. some will disagree but I like him as a cricketer .

Cremer takes wickets, but tends to bowl a few to many loose balls. He can look truly brilliant when in good rhythm, I would rate him 2nd behind Ray Price for post readmission Zimbabwean spinners.

Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
Good point raised. Across all formats - Price probably is 1st, because his miserly economy in ODIs was invaluable.
But in Tests? I think Cremer has him easily covered.
Post 2011:
Price, 11 wickets at 37 in 4 matches.
Cremer, 41 wickets at 43 in 11 matches + a top score of 102*.
Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
Yeah if you factor in batting then Cremer is the better cricketer. As if right now he is our most effective wicket taking bowler but the true test is to get his test bowling average down a bit. Cremer will have a big role to play in the second test.

Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
I for one am glad of the rising stars team. There seems to be a hierarchy at the other clubs where the youngsters were under bowled. Now individuals like mashinge mavuta and ngarava can flourish.
Ngarava could be a wild card selection for Sunday. I wouldn't mind personally but would plumb for chatara for now

Re: TEAM FOR SECOND TEST GENTS
Ndolovu : 10 matches 28 wickets, 8 list a matches, 9 wickets. Performances in 2 or 1 match is not enough to declare him as bad. Part timers like Raza & Williams were less effective in second innings, in the same spinning track where Bishoo & Cremer had better stats, another specialist spinner could have given Zimbabwe success.jaybro wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 7:06 amNdolvu 2 macthes 4 wickets this seasonBlack Mamba wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 6:29 amCholeZimbo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 5:57 amHonestly the batting has been shambolic in the middle order and we need to chop and change. Only saving grace for Williams now is his bowling because he is off form really. Chakabva is a passenger for two tests in a roll now. Malcom waller really does not look confident. My team suggestion second test.
Masakadza
Mire
Ervine
Taylor
Williams
Raza
Moor (wk)
Cremer
Jarvis
Chatara
Mpofu
Replace Mpofu with Tendai Chisoro or Ndolovu. Bulawayo track is supporting spinners.
Chisoro 1 match 2 wickets this season
whats the point they're not going to be any better than Williams
8 specialist batsman should have drawn the test or atleast take the match to day 5

Pariah still talking up Utseya? Didn't we already confirm that Utseya was statistically inferior to Dirk Viljoen and Alistair Campbell?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
