Understand he is not fully fit as of now, but is he in the selectors plan once fit? That is one thing. Other thing is that is he himself willing to commit to Zimbabwe cricket?

They should have called him up for this North v South series. Blokes with LOI and Test experience who have repeatedly failed to assert themselves are not going to suddenly become world-beaters. Evans was supposed to be in there, if he’s still recovering from injury, then for his batting alone. We need to see new people in theresam_ahm wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 1:04 pmThat will be great mate!secretzimbo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 11:23 amHe's committed. And he's on the selectors radar. Got it on pretty good authority Evans is looking to head to the UK again this summer for a club gig. Not sure what's happening with his cricket to be honest. We're in desperate need of a dependable seam bowling allrounder and he could fill that gap nicely. William mashinge is simply not good enough
Re: Northerns Vs Southerns (Sri Lanka Pre-Camp)
Good on him, if he thinks he has a chance of eventually playing county cricket. But as Googly said, English clubs are shutting their doors on “promising” international players opting to develop thier own so as to feed their dismal national team. They will probably only accomodate Kevin Pietersen level talent, which there ain’t much of going around. So, Evans might find himself bouncing from one 2nd/3rd tier club to the next until he calls it quitssloandog wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 1:23 amGot it on pretty good authority Evans is looking to head to the UK again this summer for a club gig. This is what makes Zim cricket situation odd. In the case of SA, Graeme Smith, Kalis, Hashim, AB, Steyn, Ntini used the SA national team to prove themselves to be the crème of international cricket, the counties themselves actually came calling and they had their pick of the litter, their visa were sorted out for them by the clubs themselves, they didn’t have to beg, scape. Hell, even the Elton Chigumbura earned himself a season long international contract with Northans?? after enjoying a remarkable international summer in Zim in which he scored a test century vs Pakistan and grabbed a bunch of wickets. Why can’t the current crop of Zim players use the tests/Odis/t20s to make a name for themselves and EARN a genuine contract with a top tier club??
Re: Northerns Vs Southerns (Sri Lanka Pre-Camp)
Not to be off topic, but still on players opting for low tier contracts,. other sport has a clear pipeline from great performances at national team level leading to big club contracts abroad. In the case of football, Marvelous Nakamba is raking in thousands of pounds per week at Aston Villa after his national team performances led to an EPL contract, same goes for Peter Ndhlovu, Benjamin Mwaruwari, Benni McCarthy, Lucas Radebe to name a few. In rugby, Bryan Habana, Morne Steyn, Frans Steyn (hell almost every Springbok) EARNED multi-million euro contracts in Europe after tearing it up at international level.
How many Zim cricketers without a test/odi cap to their name went in to have a rewarding or more-worthy career in the county system or IPL, Carribean T20?? How are they content at being “accomodated” by clubs elite players would never want to associate their careers with??

Because ZC bars players from playing overseas without they approval...Tinah09 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 3:48 amThis is what makes Zim cricket situation odd. Raza was punished for that once upon a time
ZC refused Blessing M to go to a tournament this year
So players like Gary Ballance quit playing for Zimbabwe and try there lucky else where
BT ; Jarvis and Blessing retired from international cricket to fulfill they dreams in county cricket before returning
It's more ZC administration than the players..
Look at how they are punishing PJ Moor...

but i also think we need to start improving and diversifying who we play.
Afghanistan and Bdesh are ideal opponents for us in alot of ways, but it feels as if Zim international cricket the last 5 years has been a revolving door of Afg, Bdesh and Sri Lanka.
I dont know about anyone else but how boring would it be to only travel those countries repeatedly. SL and Dubai would be fun the first two times then get tiring and i think 'desh might get annoying after day 1. Would be tiresome.
If we toured the Windies, NZ, Oz and the Netherlands a little more it would be a bit more fun and exciting for the guys. We need to mix different places with different levels of competition.
Holland is the one Ive always been surprised we dont play more.

So the squads are in camp now. I wonder how many failed covid tests?
