And now Vitori joins the fun, NZ 6/2, and what a wonderful opprtunity to get stuck into Williamson and Taylor early ... :)

Meth clean bowls Taylor to make it 35/3. I hope Meth has a great game and he can finally get his first test cap.

Meth is just class. 4 overs for 6 runs. Should have been given the new ball. anyway he should be played at Napier regardless of what happens here.
This could be a batting track and Napier a green top.

Damn, 62 for 4 and now Elton takes the ball. It is going to be downhill from now on... :ugeek:

Just finished saying that and Elton's first over goes for 10 where everyone else is surprisingly economical, foot off the gas.

So is it proper FC or not - still not sure?

They say it's proper FC, save for the 3-day format. NZ have made a declaration at 272/7 and Hami is on strike, opening with Tino.

Vitori was a bit expensive, he might be too much of a risk if the pitch is as flat as everyone says. I'd much rather see Meth or Shingi take the new ball with Jarvis. :D

True that, I've always maintained (and I almost hear Conant claiming I'm uncharacteristically digging my heels in) that Meth is a Mpofu replacement and Shingi can only replace Jarvis or Vitori...purely because losing Mpofu means losing control, control that Shingi doesn't have but Meth has.

Having said that one would need to look at the the 8 no-ball problem and ask can it be corrected? If so then the figures wouldn't look so bad, let's see what happens second innings before concluding.
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu
