brendontaylor.admin do you know whats happened to ian nicolson as i think he still wants to play for zimbabwe, why wont they select him?
Ian Nicolson is actually a member here at ZCF, he's even posted. He said he's still available in this post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=186&p=2689#p2689

I guess he's not really in the selectors minds at the moment because he hasn't played a lot of domestic cricket of late, and between Mpofu, Rainsford, Mupariwa and Chigumbura the (specialist) fast bowling seems to be quite solid.

honest opinion brendontalyor.admin do you believe that in 3 or 4 years if the situation in Zimbabwe changes for the better do you think that we will get a lot of the younger players who went to the uk back?

such as ballance, ireland, meth, landman, higgins

There are quite a few different variables - ie. did the players leave because they don't like Mugabe and Zanu-PF? Did they leave because they don't like Chingoka, Bvute and co? Did they leave because they wanted to play a higher standard of cricket? Etc...

I think it is possible that some players could return by 2011 if they think they are a chance of making the World Cup squad. Likewise, when we return to Tests that could also be a catalyst for players coming back. Maybe a couple at most though, I can't see enough players ever returning that it would completely reshape the first eleven.

I think the most important thing now is to make sure that more players don't leave, we have a lot of talented kids coming in through the schools system which we have to hang on to. And club cricket is already very weak, we can't afford for the standard there to drop any further.

Morning all, not a bad position although it would be nice to see the back of one or both of these two batsmen.

Good to see Rainsford fit again although he seems a little more expensive than usual, i would have liked to see Mupariwa back in the side today as well as i'm sure we could have managed to fit 3 seamers in considering the series score.

Hats off to Masakadza today, i don't think he really needs to bowl but who can complain about 7-0-22-2 ?

And we have seen the back of one of these batsmen :D , what an arrival for Cremer this series has been.

Only that it has started and that Bulawayo Athletic Club defeated Mutare Sports Club a couple of days ago. No other news yet I'm afraid.

A rather annoying partnership here, this really has been a series of lower order partnerships saving the top order batsmen from getting too much egg on their faces.

As things stand i believe that Cremer has the worst figures of his ODI career

i think that utseya is turning himself into an all rounder rather than a front line bowler as these days he is batting himself higher up the order and bowling himself less behind cremer, price and sometimes dabengwa
