We're not scheduled to tour Sri Lanka until April 2015.

Except it won't be Herath. It will be Dilshan taking 13-95. Remember Marlon Samuels, the potent mystery spinner in the West Indies?

Agree with most of what the Senator says, I too have fantasized on what could have been, our franchise teams benefiting from former greats translating to skills transfer. I even have a post along these lines here. However to be continually looking back and talking of whatifs wont get us anywhere.

I agree Sean would have strengthened our batting but at whose expense, we were an opener short, despite form Vusi, Hami and Taylor are currently musts for their experience if anything else. Waller has settled nicely at 5. What we need is an opener and I doubt Sean would have opened.

We'd never waste Taylor upfront, why waste Vusi? I still contend Vusi is being missused, we need to get an opener to do an opener's job, with Duffin gone, could we do any worse than Vermalean? Then drop Vusi to the middle order to churn out the runs than wasting him upfront.

1. Mawoyo 2. Vermalean 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams/Waller/Ervine 7. Mutumbami (wkt)

Agreed on the lack of game time ICC must intervene. Member countries should also chip in just like Australia and The Proteas did in 2011 by sending strong A sides. In the meantime why can't we use the A team funds to good use. What of my famous piggy backing on SA inbound tours, even if it means being part of tour matches in South Africa. Before we blame the world and feeling sorry for ourselves we should try all we can.

We will never stop people leaving until our admin is sorted, and we don't seem anywhere close, so unfortunately we will have to make do with what we have.

The failure to give our best batsman in the West Indies, Craig Ervine, a central contract forced him to choose club cricket in Ireland which pays considerably more than he would have got in Zimbabwe, and seriously weakened the batting line up. [/u]
This is something I seriously don't get. How can a Test-playing Full Member which has hosted Tests, ODIS and T20s not afford to pay more than a club in an Associate country?
It's because they continually misappropriate the money. Last year ZC had 700 employees, of which 270 something were administrators (more administrators than franchise players!!!). Interesting when their offices have about 10 desks. I believe we are down to about 150 administrators now. This is second hand info, but no-one will really ever know as it's all smoke and mirrors. Surely the Minister can demand an audit of all goings-on, past and present? If there's nothing to hide then they should gladly provide the info. A list of employees and their job descriptions, past and present, and what they earn, and what they actually do would be really nice. We need a Wiki-leaks on the internal goings-on of ZC.

I second that! Terrible what do you need all those people for? It's not as if they're doing any tangible good.

If none of them pitched up for work, ever, the place would run more smoothly, and at least there would be a positive bank balance, eeish I'm fed up!
