I assume the brass band is in response to that.

It’s a shame because I don’t really care about the mildly crude lyrics, and considering 99.9% of viewers on TV of any Zim match are Indians who do not speak Shona, what’s the problem?

It’s completely killed the atmosphere and I miss it.
As one of that 99.9% I completely agree. The vibes were immaculate with the singing and I understood absolutely 0 words. It feels so fake now.

SL games with their horns are nice because it feels organic, this feels orchestrated af.

Evans did well today, took some responsibility, Raza clearly trusts him.

Maposa has a problem with the angle he provides the batters, anything back of the length is angled down leg which enables the batters to help it over fine leg.

Musekiwa has played 30 T20Is with a highest score of 26. He has batted 26 times in those 30 innings so can't complain about a lack of opportunities. Think Burl is one place too high at the moment, one of Musekiwa or Munyonga can be left out.

How is Cremer in that squad and never gets a game?
I dont have a problem with him not getting a game, the problem is that he's in the squad.

I knew Raza wouldn't bowl in the first 4 overs and he should have. I called it before. So long as he comes out smelling like an ageing rose its not the end of the world. His stats were good and it looked like he bowled well, but the game was over by the 8th over and all they had to do was nudge it around. Not dissimilar to his batting- run a ball.
Batted well against good bowling. Has he got another gear or hasnt he? His captaincy is really shite.

Where was Marumani? Surely had to be injured??? You can't drop him after one shite innings off the back of a really good run and looking like he's about to go up a level, surely?
Myers just keeps getting random call ups and gets thrown in the deep end every time. I'll say it again, he's a good player, but he's not a T20 player.

A lot riding on Taylor, hes fucked a couple of people's careers until he decides he's not good enough, because the selectors arent going to axe him. I wonder how long his self absorption will last? He's going to come up short and take a couple of deserving players with him. Go Brendan!!

So they swapped out the paid Castle Corner for the fentanyl band.  You cannot blow a trumpet for 4 hours straight without stopping unless you're on a banned pharmaceutical. They swapped out chimurenga songs for chimurenga trumpets
I wonder if chairman Bahns has been sacked as well, or is he now the band conductor/dealer?
Cant they pay guys just to come and fill the stand and just sit quietly and learn the game?

Tony and Musi are not finishers at this level. Just a reminder.
Theyre not out of their depth though, just can't smack the good balls.

After batting innings I thought of just another disastrous day.

Then, losing with "only" 12 balls to spare is not obscene.

At a certain moment a statistics was broadcasted which read that Afghani spinners have the best (6.80) economy of ALL Test nations.
Zimabwe has tried harder. Wickets have been often disappointing but the opposition is a top T20 one.
Watching Rashid bowling variety is not uncanny: it's frightening.
In the over he made two dots, two runs and two wickets, he seemed extraterrestrial.

Marumani had a groin strain. BT needs a score on Sunday big time. So much pressure on Bennett and Raza at the moment.

He’s probably there because they want Wellington and these new ICC regulations say you need a like for like sub for every role. If they rated him, he’d be starting.

That's a fair point.

There's no pressure on Raza. Obviously he wants to do well, whether the team does well or not has absolutely no impact on him whatsoever. He's always going to get picked and have a say in who else gets the nod.

He's not alone here. We have a bunch of players like that. So long as they make just enuf or do just enuf to guarantee selection next game they take that as a win.

If they want Zim to do well and have some pride, pick the guys that train daily and want to win. 5 a side cricket could gain popularity.

Its hard to stay enthusiastic here. C@&* selectors, soft players and a band that would turn Mother Theresa into an axe wielding murderer.

We just don't play enough T20 cricket. Even if you look at their stats, half of the T20s they have played are international matches. Literally learning on the job

Something has to change in T20s, I agree they don't get as much exposure, but that can't be an excuse, players like Munyonga, Marumani have played enough internationals with nothing much to show against stronger opponents.

I don't understand the reluctance to try Campbell, Curran, and Naqvi, If available.

Other option would be to include Williams who is still better than the ones playing and Madhevere can be given another chance, genuinely he is a better option than Myers, Musikewa and Munyonga. I do rate Madhevere.

Alistair Frost, does he stand a chance?
