Terry Duffin in my opinion was a better opening batsman than Chibhabha, Sibanda , Mawoyo & Mire. Chibhabha doesnt even have a 100 in ODI. Sibanda never made most of his opportunities like Hamilton. Mire was a better t20i batsman. He had a good role to play in that 3-2 SL series win in 2017 but nothing after that.

Duffin was recalled for the 2011 ODI WC after Sean Ervine pulled out, Tino Mawoyo replaced Ervine but got injured and Terrence was recalled but didnt feature in the playing XI, maybe due to quota. Greg Lamb was there, Taylor was their no1 batsman, Williams was also good, Ray Price was their left arm spinner, Cremer was their leggie. Raza also missed the cut due to passport issues but I believe if they gave Duffin a few chances, he couldve played a lot longer. He looked a promising left handed batsman, had a technique but kind of didnt make most of his innings even when he was appointed captain.

The rules are: you can select ANY player who has represented Zimbabwe at any time during the life of ZCF (2007 onwards). You are picking them based on their career peak, not necessarily their post-2007 form or how they would perform in 2026.

The XI is for a random cricket match where the format is unknown, so your aim is just to pick the strongest XI names possible.

1. Grant Flower
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Gary Ballance
4. Brendan Taylor (c)
5. Sean Williams
6. Sikandar Raza
7. Tatenda Taibu (wk)
8. Graeme Cremer
9. Andy Blignaut
10. Ray Price
11. Blessing Muzarabani

Ervine unlucky, and I’m playing Blignaut as an opening bowler. Houghton to coach.

1. Hamilton
2. Bennet (think he's done enough)
3. Ervine
4. Taylor
5. Williams
6. Raza
7.Coventry (Taibu was overrated)
8. Ervine
9. Cremer
10. Ngarava
11. Muzarabani

Bench:
Vitori
Jarvis
Mire
Chatara
