Yeah, was looking forward to see what he could do on return, but apparently he is not playing!
Re: Match Thread Eagles v Mountaineers (Logan Cup)
I saw Barney Rogers at Harare Sports Club so he is definately part of the Eagles team. Perhaps its a fitness issue. A four day game is no walk in the park.Detective RDS wrote:Why not Barney Rogers is playing for Mashonaland Eagles ? It's a complete shocker !
If you notice something none of the returning guys have really done anything to write home about. Its the usual suspects doing all the damage Masakadza, Maruma, Elton, Cremer, Vusi. Lets hope the returning fellas raise up their socks. In the coming games as far as I see it if I was to pick a Zim side from the performances in the opening games, I wouldn't change much from the team the played Bangalabash recently.

The match will be a drawn anyways. 2 innings are completed in 3 days with just a day to spear.

Match Drawn:
Front-runners Mountaineers snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat as panic
set into the middle order causing a domino effect on their wickets. Mash
Eagles set 271 leading by 95 runs, Samuel Mwakaeni scoring a strong 72 and
Raymond Price scoring 41 runs. Mountaineers were chasing 95 runs to win but
barely made fifty owing to a massive six wicket loss in less than six overs,
four of these wickets resulting from poor running between the wicket and
efficient fielding. Mountaineers however ended the last day on 45 run for a
seven wicket loss. Eagles captain Elton Chigumbura and Raymond Price put up
a strong bowling showcase and got away with two wickets a piece, Chigumbura
will be happy with this draw as Mountaineers had almost bagged the game by
end of day three. The Harare clash produced the highest batting total so far
by captain of the Mountaineers Hamilton Masakadza scoring 188 in his first
innings while the Kwekwe clash harvested the cream of the bowlers so far.
