mpofu is not enough good for tests
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
Ncube looks like the only one capable of getting a wicket. Two big LBW shouts havent gone his way. his time will come though, well played Ncube thus far on a flat pitch
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
Agreed he is bowling well and swinging the ball in the air, Meth would of done the samejimbo wrote:Ncube looks like the only one capable of getting a wicket. Two big LBW shouts havent gone his way. his time will come though, well played Ncube thus far on a flat pitch

Not sure why Chakbva in the test match, Mutizwas batting average at first class level is far better and Mutizwa has double the amount of first class centuries Chakbva has
Confused? I am

If I can attempt, its more because Chakabva is a specialist keeper, in T20 and ODI you can get away with a part time keeper but Test I would feel you are safer with a specialist keeper (not saying Regis is a brilliant keeper but saying why he would have come in ahead of Mutizwa or Taylor)jimbo wrote:and added more batting depthzimfan1 wrote:Agreed he is bowling well and swinging the ball in the air, Meth would of done the same![]()

Umm. I wasn't meaning 1/100 would get us into a good position, or even a good position for a draw - I was thinking we couldn't have expected much more.hhm wrote:It's ok to go with potential so called wicket-takers who can fetch a few (not that there's any sign that they will get those wickets), but having seen the nature of the pitch it was evident that you need bowlers who will tighten the screws because this is potentially a match to get a draw out of (points for ratings) for both of these sides. Unfortunately our bowlers are not as effective as NZ's bowlers will be against our batsmen under similar conditions. Scoreboard pressure will mount. So NZ 600/6 dec by tea tommorrow, Zim 50/3 at day's close. As it stands we set ourselves up for a loss instead Jemisi, because our batsmen won't be as proficient against their attack. Even if it means being conservative, I would've taken a draw!
Anyway, to be fair although the youngsters haven't threatened, they haven't been expensive either.

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
I suspect we judge bowlers based on their most recent spell in isolation this is what Chris has done in the season so far something I mentioned in another thread:PSR wrote:mpofu is not enough good for tests
"He is our most experienced bowler, hasn't taken bucketloads, but then who has? (Actually his 7 is tied highest with Jarvis, at a better average of 26.71 to Jarvis' 32, and more economic, 3.4 compared to Jarvis' 3.64, and the best strike rate of 47.1 aside from pattimer Hami's 42.... ..."
If that is terrible then we should get rid of everyone behind him (the whole attack)...lets keep perspective..
