I wouldn’t be confident enough to come to any preconceived conclusions about this tournament. Going off the last edition, the pitches will start to wear as the tournament progresses & that will make teams like Nepal & UAE very dangerous.
The groups will be very crucial, not sure exactly how they will get picked, but we could luck in & end up with an easy group. Need to avoid playing the Windies at the back end of the tournament I reckon, much rather get them in game 1.
I wonder where they will base us. I think we decide. What conditions do we think would suit us? Ireland and the West Indies will want Harare like conditions. Sri Lanka probably Bulawayo. What do we prefer?

Harare for sure, I’m almost certain that Zimbabwe has a much better record at Harare rather than Queens. I know that Zimbabwe has only ever won one Test match in Bulawayo.
I think grouping will depend on who has finished where.ideally two consecutive teams will be in different groups .i think they have finished as per this
1. Westindies
2. Srilanka
3. Ireland (assuming they remain behind both of them)
4. Zimbabwe
5. Netherlands
6. Scotland
7. Oman
8. Nepal
9. Usa
10. Uae
As per this westindies, ireland, Netherlands, Oman and usa should be in one group while . Srilanka, zimbabwe, Scotland, Nepal and uae should be in other group

You have just gone 1,2,1,2
Im not sure it works like that, has it before?
If you are seeded 1, would you have your main threat being the third or fourth? best team?

Yes that's how it should work . Two best teams close to each other will not be in same group.
Zimdoggy is right, the seeding will be as explained by SZ. ICC are stupid, I know, but surely they won't mess this up. I'm quite sure they will follow proper seedings. Zimbabwe should be seeded 4th for this tournament which means they will likely run into West Indies, Netherlands, Nepal and USA... May be.
However let's not forget that this will not be a simple single group RR matches. The first round will be followed by Super Sixes where you carry forward the points gained against other opponents who have also qualified for the Super Sixes.
So any team carrying forward 4 points into SS will have one foot in the WC, 2 points is like 50-50 and 0 points is like mission impossible. But here don't forget that Afghanistan last time did exactly that, they carried forward 0 points and then BOY they turned it around like there is no stopping them.
