The most obvious question marks in that squad are
Masekesa, Tsiga and Nyamhuri
Nyamhuri's stats are really poor. He's got zip, swing and he's a leftie. No doubting his potential but he's their poster boy for ignoring stats. I dont have a problem with it if he had a lot more control. Should there be an injury Maphosa should be ahead of him, who's already in the squad. Even if they insist on by-passing Evans I'd have Chivanga ahead of Nyamhuri, hes bowling well.
Tsiga is the back-up keeper, but have a keeper that can bat T20, thats Maru for me.
Masekesa panics if batters go after him atm. He's a poor selection for this format.
There should be 3 different squad selections right there.
The squad in general is very poor and set up for failure. T20 is a format that doesn't suit every player but the hierachy seem to think differently. You can add Wes and Wellington to the 3 above for me as well. You cannot be competitive if the selectors can't get the squad right or even close.

The repercussions of not getting thru the qualifiers are massive for us. Massive.

ZC are just wanting to qualify and then they can take their foot off the pedal.

Once again...here's our best starting eleven. And its actually a good one, we can pull off a couple of surprises with this team. We can get this team together right now as well.
We dont have to agonize over "kids" learning on the fly.
Its ridiculous. We are in the big pond with the big fish.

Bennett
Welch
Knackers
Williams
BT
Raza
Burl
Higgins
Evans
Ngarava
Mazarabani

Put who you like on the bench
Maphosa, Gwandu, Maru, Welch Jr, Musekiwa whoever, doesnt matter too much.

Put Taruvinga, Wes, Madande, even. Doesn't matter.

Wes is getting attacked quite badly. That's going to really affect him. Funny enough that hit wicket was something that was bound to happen if you have watched him this year against the better fast bowlers. He has been deep in his crease all year. That and the inside edge onto the stumps. Happens to him more often than not.

They are killing him by continuing to make him play against some of the worlds best when he is struggling like this. As for Clive this is why I always say you have to time your comebacks. I will say it again, these are some of the worlds best players.

The public are nasty. Theyre being filthy about Madhevere when they should be directing their ire at the selectors.

Pretty solid squad but more of a pipe dream isn't it. Knackers residency status hasn't been confirmed yet. Can Williams be lured out of retirement. Assuming BT will have to keep as well straight from the wilderness is be ask that. Higgins didn't exactly light up the domestic seen last time out so hard sale that. Can't believe we are still experimenting will the qualifiers soo close.

I agree with the above

They are really not looking after Wes and a few others.

Be angry at above. All Wes can try and do is his best. Not his fault he is put in the situation.

Going back to the keeper debate

I see Dane Schandendorf is named for the semifinal tonight.

I can’t imagine he will keep the contract but in some of the county two games, he gives it a whack.

Knackers is easily achievable. The General can get him a passport tomorrow if he doesnt have one already. Must be the ICC counting the days?

BT on a bad day is better than most of our players. His signature ramp is going to be epic. Maybe the keeping is a stretch, but have u seen him? Hes the fittest he's ever been in his life.

Higgins is an excellent player and the answer to our seaming all-rounder slot. Just look at his record and clips of him playing. Who's set it alight in domestic? This guy can play.

Williams will cut his arm off to play in this team.

Still waiting for Taps' take on this.

Ya he's a decent player. They need a spare keeper and that's all he is atm. Has to do something decent to replace the incumbent though. Swimming upstream there. Has a lot of quality games under his belt. They've sidelined JT so the likelihood of them fast tracking Dane are slim. They're yet to try Melch. If he does well in UK AND they let him keep he's closer to getting into the mix. They still need to experiment with the u19 keeper for a few years as well. Its a long road for Melch unless he starts peeling off double hundreds.
