Re: Gary Ballance Statement
I dont see Garry Balance playing for England again,I can not see any county touching him after this.
But to Garry i say "welcome back home", he will definitely play club cricket in Zimbabwe . I dont think Zimbabwe Cricket would mind having him back , he may have to do some work to clean up his image.
The smart thing to do would be to come back to Marondera and start doing some high profile charity work, get the Herald to publish a few stories and he is redeemed.

He should come back. It won't even take much to "reform" him here. Just a ZC press conference saying he is sorry and "grateful" for being given another chance plus a short speech from Mukuhlani about "second chances" and he is back.zimlover wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:31 amI dont see Garry Balance playing for England again,I can not see any county touching him after this.

Re: Gary Ballance Statement
What are you saying gents? Are you happy with him coming back to play cricket in Zim regardless, or are you saying ZC will be foolish as usual and have him back after a few photo ops? Balance me here, excuse the pun.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:48 amHe should come back. It won't even take much to "reform" him here. Re: Gary Ballance Statement
I'm just guessing here, but probably what they are saying is, if he "wants" a chance to "reform", he could seek out ZC, and ZC can look magnanimous by allowing him, and its a win-win for ZC as he can't demand a huge payday or anything like that, given the current situation. He should be ready for massive backlash on and off the field and in the dressing rooms though, if he chooses that path and ZC allows him in. It would be miserable. I'm not sure if he has the mental toughness to go through that.
Re: Gary Ballance Statement
I personally want him back. He is a good cricketer and we have a shortage of those. He is 32 this month, we can get another 4 years out of him.CholeZimbo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 7:25 amWhat are you saying gents? England have been poaching players for decades. This issue honestly has nothing to do with us and at this stage we don't
know if all these allegations are true or not. Nobody cares anymore, the public has convicted him. We should never let our emotions overpower our intelligence. Ollie Robinson is still playing for England, they only banned him for 8 games.

Sorry Taps, but just because it is not affecting you directly won't make this right. We also have an Asian community in Zim and around Zim cricket, how would they feel. Morals are bigger than cricket. At this rate you would accommodate a sex offender just because you are not a woman and because they can, regardless, improve cricket in your country.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 7:36 amI personally want him back. Re: Gary Ballance Statement
What I've read to date, may change, there are no real repercussions for current players. He will have to squirm and grovel for a bit and everyone will move on.
Rafiq was given an undisclosed 6 figure settlement by Yorkshire, which I'm certain was his real motive all along otherwise he'd have complained ten years earlier. The opportunity for reward has only materialised now. It will open the flood gates for more people deciding they've been discriminated against. He still feels he has to push through and take a few more people down. I see Bumble is on his knees ar present.
I don't think Yorkshire negotiated that too well. It should have been take the loot and fade away or we will see you in court. These potential career ending witch hunts are a load of bullshit, Nazis have been pursued with less vigour.
For 6 figures you can call me what you like and I'll give you a hug and a kiss afterwards.in fact I'll give you 20%. You can have ten free punches and you can piss on my head from the balcony whilst shouting any obscenity or racial slur of your choosing, I care not one jot.
