[Match Thread] New Zealand v Zimbabwe: 1st ODI
Re: [Match Thread] New Zealand v Zimbabwe: 1st ODI
Well done to bowl them out. 249 will be a big challenge for us, but a good effort to get rid of the whole lineup. Another 4 fer for Shingi.

i also agree that Ewing should get a look in soon. Forget about his bowling as it is none exsistant, but his batting would be very handy

Elton still my bowler of the match., but 4 wickets to Shingi. Extremely well done to him!
I think he'll be a feature for Zim for a long time. Has all the FC&ListA experience, pus good stats to back him up! I've never been in doubt that he's part of the long term opening pair, still feel it's premature but let' shope he makes the most of it.
The other half of my prediction is Nicholson, nowhere near the required level right now. However, with Jarvis, Vitori & Meth not doing much themselves, after a few more looks at Ncube&Chatara(assuming Querl has got lofty ambitions i.e.e England), some good domestic performances mght have him in the picture once more. He only needs to deal with Muzhange at Rhinos. What he does have is genuine pace, unlike Jarvis his is not a 'myth'!
Ewing should've long been included in our Test&ODI XIs!!!
We may well get "OUR" wish, unfortunately I doubt he'll come in for Regis. If Regis does play up the order(1-3) and shows some kind of productive resistance to the new ball, while Matsi does well as I expect him to, then the pressure is on Waller - who (aprat from the 99'*) hasn't been at the top of his game for a long time now!

Scored a solid 50 against Pakistam, scored some useful lower order 40's and he scored 72 on his test debut, and he scored runs in the practice game. What planet you on ?hhm wrote:Waller - who (aprat from the 99'*) hasn't been at the top of his game for a long time now!

Not sure about that. I reckon he's a very good new ball bowler. Just needs to build up a bit more pace in my opinionchappie coventry wrote:keegan meth is defently not a international bowler get rid of him

that 99* was great and lifted his average but since his 51 vs BD he's been getting starts at least. It's his spot to lose!
Matsi has been one of Zimbabwe's perrenial disappointments to me but it's actually nice to see him back - i hope he does well. He has been looking good in the shorter version and when vusi returns it will be good to see 'the Big 5' in action

Matsi fails as he always does. Waste of a plan fare sending him.
