Still looking for an answer on winter pitches and for Taps to endorse my team.

The repercussions of not getting thru the qualifiers are massive for us. Massive.

ZC are just wanting to qualify and then they can take their foot off the pedal.

Once again...here's our best starting eleven. And its actually a good one, we can pull off a couple of surprises with this team. We can get this team together right now as well.
We dont have to agonize over "kids" learning on the fly.
Its ridiculous. We are in the big pond with the big fish.

Bennett
Welch
Knackers
Williams
BT
Raza
Burl
Higgins
Evans
Ngarava
Mazarabani

Put who you like on the bench
Maphosa, Gwandu, Maru, Welch Jr, Musekiwa whoever, doesnt matter too much.

Put Taruvinga, Wes, Madande, even. Doesn't matter.
That would be my team as well , it would push the big nations for sure.

It's probably the best we can field but realistically it won't happen that way.

After the last few high level test matches we have played its clear that an all rounder like Higgins is needed to balance the bowling attack. Unfortunately I think both parties are still far from finding each other. Who are the international players at his county? With all that experience, surely if he is that good he can try negotiate an international contract just for one year to give it a go. I think that's the only thing that can work. The worst thing that happened is that when he was around he didn't light up the domestic scene.

I don't think Williams' body will allow him to play all 3 formats. I doubt he would want to return. Right now most of his games are in Bulawayo where he also stays. It's very convenient for him. No doubt he would be perfect for the format but I don't know if he is still hungry enough to deal with all that.

BT and Naqvi are automatic picks for me. Although I think for the sake of progression it only makes sense for BT to play the limited overs stuff if Craig continues to play. If Craig retires then I think he can play tests as well but I just don't see four 40 year olds in a test team being a good idea.

Evans will come back. If I remember correctly he had a contract when he was injured. They can definitely give him another one if that was true. The domestic season is around the corner. Some of these excuses have very short legs. Eventually the time will come.

Welch they will insist he plays well domestically for a while and use the excuse that they did give him a chance when he came back. I don't think it will be long before he plays all formats. I think he has the potential to be really explosive in T20s

Williams would 1000% be up for a T20 WC if we qualified. When was the last time we played in one

Still curious about Cremer, he may be here for a holiday but he's not walking around HSC with Digger for nothing.
Watch this space.
Personally I dont think he's in with a shout because he's naturally Wellie's replacement. I dont think Jadeja could replace Welly. If they even think about including him in anything at 40 years of age then I dont know. I've asked, but either no-one knows or no-one is saying. NPL is around the corner...let's see.

NZ started off bowling pies, but got the length right after about the 5th over.
When SA have Coetzee coming in at 9 you know there's depth, he's a good batsman. Their bowlers are going to cause us problems. Santner is a wizard T20 bowler as well. I think they have the measure of rhis SA side

But pointless anyone playing in NPL, it dont count for shit, as with club cricket in general. I just dont know why anyone now bothers to play it, theyve made it perfectly clear that you're wasting your time with any club cricket. You just need enough money to buy a franchise spot directly.

Raza once mentioned a long tale on how a player progresses from club to franchise to national team which made alot of sense because thats the route he took along with waiting to qualify to play for Zim. Made FC debut in 07 and international debut in 2013. He did the hard yards and paid of. I wonder why these guys want to do short cuts and say Nyamuri is there for development when you can have a proper player taking the spot.
