Congratulations to the team on keeping the Zim (lack of)success plan on course, I suspect Burl, M'shangwe and Nyauchi will be dropped for the next match for their attempt at contriving a win, shame on them

There is a danger in wishing Burl to succeed... http://zimcricketforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 593#p67593
By the way, this just occurred to me - what if Burl gets to play international cricket and does so well over many years that he becomes the benchmark for batsmen in future, instead of Bradman. A specific English word would be in for a change of meaning...

If it means that Dita Von Teese becomes the figurehead of Zim cricket then get Burl in asap

Dita can't do much worse than the current lot...Train Driver wrote:If it means that Dita Von Teese becomes the figurehead of Zim cricket then get Burl in asap

Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

So, the whole point of "the more cricket we play, the more we improve. we are not getting enough matches to consistently be on top of our games and keep improving" nonsense is laid to rest this season. The more cricket we played, the more cringe-worthy we became. End it now!

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe A v Bangladesh A in Zimbabwe
The fact is that Bangladesh has improved a lot, and we have worsen. Bangladesh is too strong in their home conditions unlike us who lost ODI and t-20 to Afghanistan
. This current Zim team is one of the strongest we have, and we still lose. Last year we had Taylor, Mire, PJ, Regis(in form) and Chatara touring Bangladesh and we still struggled and the result was 8-0. This year we have Williams, Cremer,(Chibabha, Ervine,Chibabha , Waller all in form) and we still look pathetic. We don't looks scary to the associate teams anymore as we don't have someone like Blignaut, Sean Ervine,Jarvis,Taylor,Marillier,Price who could have scare the crap out of them. Soon Williams and Ervine will leave the team, and we will continue to play Vusi,Maruma,Dabengwa,Waller,Chari, Chigumbura and Prosper.
We heard Jongwe, Mutombzodi, Chari, PJ etc as new exciting talents, but they seem to lack confidence and fighting character something we even see in small teams like Ghani/Zadran for Afghanistan, Dockrell/ Balbarnie for Ireland and Mustafizur/Monimul for Bangladesh. We don't deserve to be a full member ODI team as we are doomed and it's about time we voluntarily call it a quit and give chances to the other emerging teams such as Afganisthan, Ireland, Netherlands,HK etc.

Yeah, that was only ever a lame excuse at best... Playing loads of matches was never going to magically turn substandard players into world class ones.CrimsonAvenger wrote:So, the whole point of "the more cricket we play, the more we improve. we are not getting enough matches to consistently be on top of our games and keep improving" nonsense is laid to rest this season.
