I did watch that tour but can't remember him being quite that huge! Good on him. Shame he isn't a batsman!

I hear the boys are flying out much earlier than initially planned, early this week (due to quarantine requirements etc). Christmas away from home will be tough for some of the boys but hopefully they can bond over this and continue their prep in the Caribbean. Realistically, aim is to smash PNG, lose respectably against Pak and Afg and have a run in the Plate.

No, aim should be to win against Afghans too mate. Make it to the next round and I hope they will.

It's ok to sacrifice one Christmas for an event that can shape up your career so good decision to leave early.

I don't understand why NZL opted out due to strict quarentine rules for U19s. What is more depressing for an U19 cricketer? Spending some days under strict quarentine or missing out on an U19 WC which as a kid you dream of playing and prepare so hard for. For me it would be the latter 🤦‍♂️

Some talented boys in our under 19 squad. Saul and welch did not look overawed against the full namibia side which was a major test. Also we have Bawa and the bennet brothers and wohulter.
Not really up to speed with bowling but let's throw our weight behind the lads. A win against Afghanistan would be fantastic. The first game will set the tone for our whole tournament whether we want to be also rand in the plate or have a bit of a run this year
