Ya it looked nasty, hope he's okay. Got a good start again this morning, he looked our best bat by far.

Chivanga does bowl some rubbish sometimes, but I really do like his pace and aggression - he'll be a good option in Tests going forward. I like attacking bowlers, can't be doing with docile medium pacers. Mavuta and Chivanga are exciting!

I hope Kaia can come on to bat in the second innings. That didn't look good.
What happened to him mate?
He was fielding on short leg and got hit on the shoulder due to a full-blooded pull shot.

Meanwhile our best player is selling storage solutions in Jebel Ali.

It really is making a mockery of test cricket. Who is actually going to care about a UAE T20 or PSL in 10 years time? The fad will come and go I reckon.
Meanwhile Zim will loose another test series in which they would have been quite competitive in if there was more availablity.

This is Zimbabwe`s second xi. No need to get overly anxious yet.

Yeah look I went to bed when Ervine got out, pleasantly surprised to see Windies 4 down at stumps. If Zimbabwe can start the day well and restrict the Windies to 200 then you never know, as I assume this deck will get worse to bat on the longer the day goes.

it seems the addition of Ballance hasn't helped improve the players around him, they've learnt nothing from GB in how to build a Test innings, so many guys getting out to either playing at balls they didn't need to or not using the full face of the bat.

It is disappointing that Zimbabwe never seems to have their best XI for Test matches, Williams for instance hasn't played a Test since the Afghanistan series, in fact he's on a streak of three tests in a row with a century dating back to early 2020 v Sri Lanka (he missed the Test v Bangladesh in between). That means he's missed 6 of the last 8 Tests Zimbabwe has played!!!

I think at full strength, and with better weather permitted, this Zimbabwe side could have beaten the Windies in at least one Test, I'm not sure where ZC goes from here as they have no leverage when it comes to stopping the players from playing overseas. Sure, they could have played hard ball with Burl as he's only getting gigs in Bangladesh and Nepal, which are low paying or no-paying at all. But Raza is getting gigs everywhere now, and could easily retire from Zimbabwe if push came to shove.

The only answer is to focus more on producing talent, so they can easily replace these guys when they want to go down this franchise route. If you have guys ready to take the places of Raza and Burl, they might think twice about asking for the NOC.

On the contrary, that our 2nd XI is so bad is every reason to be anxious. Our best players have 1 or 2 years left in them. Our 2nd XI is what we roll out tomorrow once they are gone.
