What a catch from Marumani!!! That has to be out
Re: Zimbabwe vs Ireland | 2nd ODI | 16 February 2025
We need a slip surely. Not defending this without bowling them out.
We're simply not defending it
We're simply not defending it

Re: Zimbabwe vs Ireland | 2nd ODI | 16 February 2025
Jeez Sterling threw that away. Played beautifully.
Re: Zimbabwe vs Ireland | 2nd ODI | 16 February 2025
Terrible miss from Wes. Ireland are tightening up here. We needed that wicket badly.
Re: Zimbabwe vs Ireland | 2nd ODI | 16 February 2025
Lame effort from Mazarabani. 2 chances now.
Re: Zimbabwe vs Ireland | 2nd ODI | 16 February 2025
Eeish that over is the game. We should almost be level pegging if we'd taken those two chances. That was the moment to drag this back. Who recognises that?

Here are some thoughts-
Toss was important as usual in Harare, the pitch got a lot easier.
Bennett played well. If the Irish bowl well next game he'll get a lot more in that very area, that's his weak spot for sure.
I think they might drop Curran next game by the sounds of it. These commentators seem to have some influence
A bit premature because if Bennett goes well Curran complements him.
Bennett is now all important. Think we might see Tony in the next line-up ahead of Campbell or Curran.
Ervine played a loose shot to a good ball. Jeez I don't like his captaincy. So conservative. It's vital to get Blessing to bang it in most balls with a cordon. They really don't like facing him at all. His opening spell is critical for us and he was shit today. If he gets it right how many guys do you need in front of the wicket?
I'd like to see Ngarava bowl a few back of a length as well. His fielding is slack and he bats like he doesn't care. He's a better batsman than that. Needs to take more responsibility with the bat.
Madhevere played really well, but got out to a stupid shot which cost us dearly. They won't write about that though. If you really want to take responsibility (and i think he does now), you have to say the 60 cost us the game. He just had to keep doing what he was doing, was playing brilliantly and that was a low percentage shot. One vital mistake, but there was another one coming, u could see he had loosened up. Missed a critical run out as well, there was an outside chance to turn the game there. All in all a good day for him though.
Raza played well. Not that he's a good captain either, but he's a bit more pro-active than Craig.
Campbell was unlucky. Got two charity overs, should have got a couple more earlier on. If he doesn't bowl don't pick him. He needs to bowl, we need to see how he will go. I dont think he should make this side as a pure batter, but we are likely to never know becausehe invents other ways of going out. I think he could be good. He's got tough opposition from Burl as a leg spinning all-rounder/finisher, not that Burl has done much of late, but he's been out of favor and he's the type that comes back firing. We haven't seen the good Burl for a very long time.
Marumani's out was terrible. What a shit shot early on. Commentators are saying he is not used to 7 and should play up the order so that is likely where he will be played
Keeping was a bit slack but a good catch. It's so boring watching him go out to that shot behind square, it's dozens of times. Put it in his contract that he has to get rid of that shot.
Lots of praise for Wellie's batting. It was decent. Survived a plumb LBW and then played well, but under the circumstances 30 was not good enough. Sad that people think that was enuf. He needs to take more responsibility than that. He bowled well also.
He needs to be beating himself up about that 30 and out or we're going nowhere. C'mon guys we want to win.
I'm not seeing what they see in Trevor. I see glimpses but...
I'd honestly rather play Nyamhuri or fetch Evans from the Wilderness. He's got a nice action and has the genetics, but they're seeing something I'm not.
Camphor's spell was the big difference. Again how did it suddenly swing like that?
I think they're going to continue to bowl well next game. That first ODI was poor from them and we won't get that lucky again. Their bowling is way more disciplined than ours. WHY????
We need to win that next toss. Use a ZIG coin
Ireland are also brittle under pressure.
I keep hearing we're so close but there's not enough fight or responsibility in this team.

Curran needs a score in the third match or someone else deserves a shot. He can go back to domestic cricket or A tours to try and get up to a standard beyond county cricket. Gumbie still has some appeal opening as he can play the Curran anchor role just as well and is out best keeping option.
Ervine's captaincy remains poor, Campbell was much better in that regard.

Interesting if we make a change
Tony I would like to see but who comes out?
Campbell was stiff
Maru keeps
Curran- hasn’t made a score but been a part of some big opening stands.
Bowling wise I would keep the same pace bowlers.

Someone there definitely sees something in Gwandu, I hope they're right. People will shout but Larry is a good option, it's going to be cloudy and humid and the ball is going to swing.
