I actually wouldn't pick Kaia. What kind of T20 team has 4 guys playing an anchor role? Wes is also an automatic pick as the opener in T20s. He has earned that spot. Marumani also gets in as the keeper for now. Those should be the 2 openers for now

Taking Kaia over Zhuwao in this format is not an option for me. That's for the bench. Why would our extra batsman be another anchor when we have Craig, Sean and Ballance playing the exact same role. To me you either have Zhuwao or Munyonga as the extra batsman in the squad. Madande as the other keeper option.

Munyonga is criminally underrated. He can clear the ropes just like Marumani and the key difference with him is that I think he has the self belief and mentality to survive at this level. The confidence that Jongwe has, he has it. In this format guys like that make things happen.

Munyonga does nothing at international level

If Cephas was 28 then I’d agree with getting him in the side. If we were going straight to the World Cup and needed instant results then I’d kind of agree too.

Fact is we are playing a low level qualifier, we will be very strong favourites regardless of what team we send. I agree with Taps that Wes, Marumani, Munyonga, Madande and possibly some others will have to be in that squad and get games. It’s going to be much easier playing African teams (Namibia the only real threat) than full members they have been used to recently. It’s the perfect opportunity for them to regain some confidence in international cricket.

I feel for Zhuwao too and I’m sorry he never got more opportunities. But he is simply way too old, especially considering the other bunch of old guys we have in our squad (who are better than him as well).

You guys keep bringing up the same players that keep on failing . You can't reward mediocrity , these players have had multiple chances and can't deliver atm. Let them improve and become more reliable before getting another chance.

So you give the youngsters chances against Australia, Ireland, Bangladesh, India.

But you give the 38 year old a chance against Tanzania and Rwanda.

Seems very fair mate.

Unfortunately our selectors will probably go with what you have proposed because they are as comically bad at selections too.

Curran with back to back 50s.

Wont be enough to force selection but he will be sleeping easier now

I'd rather Curran be given an opportunity rather than recycle the other guys in and out all the time. Also with Moor out of the equation , surely Madande is the keeper in all formats of the game.
