I honestly had my doubts about these guys for a while. From the moment they were getting bashed by very weak select sides here. To top it off in typical Zim style they have lost to a team they were bashing in the warm ups. Maybe they will get revenge against the West Indies who have also been terrible.
Bawa has been terrible. He has played 18 youth ODIs and has scored 461 runs. His average of 28 has been skewed by 2 centuries and 1 half century against Canada, PNG and Scotland respectively. I don't think the last warm up against Canada counted as an official match. I don't know why
To be honest I don't know if he has what it takes for the senior stuff. At least we know for sure you can't throw him into the deep end like they did to Myers, Marumani, Wes and Shumba. He is far from ready. Such a hit or miss kind of player. Against New Zealand he averages 20 but that comes from a duck and a score of 40. Against Scotland he got 56 and then 3. Terrible stats. I think half his games he has scored less than 10. Another Hami in the making
