Ngarava's involvement dependent upon a late fitness test. Said to be touch and go.

Mehluli has now also posted that squad of 14. Seems to be correct. (Or maybe he got it from here? )

As expected really. I'm glad Marumani is in there - should be able to do plenty of damage against these associate attacks.

Tim David not in Singapore squad, as expected. That must be a huge relief for all other teams.

Officially the ‘Harare Friendlies League’ but everyone calls it the boozers. 80% white players, mostly over 40’s but a mix of juniors sometimes too. They play at OGs and the new ground at Wingate every weekend in the winter.

The drinking is more important than the cricket for quite a few of them

The cricket gets in the way of drinking. Its like having a self imposed time to start boozing or you're an alcoholic

Theyve got 4 hours to kill before the drinking begins so may as well do something.. oh let's play a game of cricket!

They allowed 15 players earlier. Quite stupid to have only 14.

Why was Kasuza not considered at all? I think he could have been preferred over Marumani.

Okay so now the squad has been confirmed, her is my 11 for game 1:

Jongwe
Muzarabani
Chatara

Missing out:
Marumani (just couldn’t fit him in the 11, I’m sure he will play one at least)
Ngrava (let him sit out first then bring him in after more time bowling)
Shumba (this was a tough one, his recent from hasn’t been great but no he is class at this format. I’m sure he will play a couple)


I’m pretty happy with that squad though, hoping Ervine can find some form in this format and play the anchor role well. Singapores bowling attack is pretty flat, best bowler is over 40 now so need to attack early on.
