Think we need to give some credit to Jongwe and Chatara at the back end with the ball. This is why I think Jongwe has the edge over Evans in the T20 stuff, Evans bowls a bit too much length and can be lined up whereas Jongwe can mix it up a bit. I would also rather have Jongwe with the bat at this point in their careers. However I am not sure Jongwe is a good option in ODIs as there is no way that he is bowling ten overs.

I like Evans but I think certain guys on the forum overhype him, he is a promising cricketer who will get better. Probably more suited to ODIs with his length. Could also see him get a run in the West Indies tests.

Nice to pick up the series win. Captain stepped up when he needed to. Burl also pitching in with the bat. He really needs to bat higher.

Unsure why Wes only got 2 overs considering he went for 4 p/o. Not sure what to do about his batting though. Man is missing some serious confidence. Honestly needs to stop with all the fancy shots and just start playing straight bat. Focus more on his classic strokes. Marumani also looking a little all sorts. For me, it really just comes down to his balance and shape at the crease. He's not looking to play fancy, but just not holding shape. He is not in it most of the time. Kaia looked solid for most of his shots until his wicket. He was too far from the ball to be playing that shot and also off balance. I still see him as a Test player though. Not sure what Madande was doing with his wicket. No need for the huge heave. Just needed to hold shape. Feel like I'm repeating some things for most of the batters, but is' only cricket 101.

Also interesting that the Ireland captain said that our crowd was the most raucous and best crowd they have played in front of. Nice to hear. We need to start rewarding this fan support with consistent success.

I think the longer the format the better Evans will be suited, he also said he likes 4-day cricket more than t20s and was chomping at the bit to get back and play for the Eagles (more he didn’t skip any games).

I’ve always been a big supporter of Jongwe, but I’ve come to realise he’ll probably never hit the heights I thought he would. He seems like the type of guy who needs to be left out every now and then to keep him on his toes.

I don't think it's overhype. I think it just gets asked why does he get dropped after one bad game, yet others continually get picked after continuous fails. Where is the consistency and fairness.

Not like Jongwe is a much better player, though Zolsky and Kwirirayi on Twitter will have you believe he is a much better bowler. Granted he took 2 wicker, but he still went for close to 8. Doesn't scream "better". Not to mention how quiet everyone went after Jongwes thievery of cricket equipment, almost like it never happened.

I think it’s pretty obvious if you’ve watched him that Evans hasn’t really figured out T20 bowling fully yet. Not really hitting the right lengths for this format. Also he has a tendency to just bowl the same thing over and over, even if he’s going for runs. I’m not sure he really has many plans if he gets hit for a few boundaries. No change ups or ideas yet.

He’s a good player and will improve a lot. He’ll probably be back in the ODI team on Wednesday and I think he’s going to be excellent in the Tests.

But Jongwe is an excellent T20 bowler and has a very impressive record. He gets (on field) criticism for literally no reason.

He’s fat and a thief and a general dick so I can see why people don’t like him but you can’t fault his T20 record.

He was dropped at the World Cup after a bad game wasn’t he? And was dropped for the start of this series. So I don’t see how selection has been really biased and unfair to Evans? People are imagining things again….

It’s a very good thing to have two guys competing for and sharing one position.

Given he bowled at the death, 7.66 is a pretty good economy. Jongwe and Evans have both done pretty well and neither has done way better than the other. Think its a fair call to keep switching them. Not easy to drop either. As much as I like Wellington, I might switch in Evans for him. But I dont think selectors should cop too much.

He was dropped at the WC because of his scandal, if memory serves me correctly.

No doubt Jongwe has some quality as a death bowler but if he is only being picked as a specialist two over bowler, how is that fair. I'm not denying his strength in that area or his skill with it, but just stating that it's unfair how one group of players get treated, and another group do. For all the positives on the field, there are still many things that need fixing. a

Honestly, after some of Ngaravas performances in the WC, I would have been tempted to drop him, especially the way he bowled against India.
