The below is a clarifying note about the state of affairs with the ANC.
This is starting to line up.
Bankrupt ANC gets paid by Iran to run propaganda interference against Israel.
If they hadn't and the Courts declared them bankrupt, the Constitution prohibits them from running for election.
So they did a deal in an attempt to remain in power and in so doing threatened or risked disinvestment in our country by the US, UK and Europe.

About 6 months ago an application was brought by a service provider who was owed about R120 million by the ANC, for the liquidation of the ANC. The application was due to be heard in November 2023. As we know, earlier in 2023 the ANC had been unable to pay salaries of staff for several months.
The ANC was close to bankruptcy. (SAA, SABC, Eskom, Transnet, etc).
In October 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs visits Iran. Soon after this visit:
1) the government expresses solidarity with the Palestinians in a public display broadcast on TV
2) hosts a Hamas delegation in SA.
3) launches an urgent application to the ICJ, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza. Just the preliminary application costs come to R200 million for preparation and argument (the final trial will cost about R1,5 billion.)
About 3 weeks ago the liquidation application against the ANC is confidentially settled (R100m) and the ANC publishes a statement that its financial woes are over and it’s ready to fund and fight the 2024 elections.
I’m still convinced that the ANC are ideologically aligned with Iran (it’s not *only* money), but what we’re seeing here is a political party putting their own survival ahead of the economy of the country.
